When to go
The Lofoten Islands are a stunning year round destination with differing highlights depending on the time of year.
January and February, although still cold and with long nights, are the best months for spotting humpback whales. During March and April spring starts to arrive and the temperature increase, this is a delightful time to visit as the mountains are often still snow capped whilst days are longer. The summer months of May to August bring long daylight hours and great flora and fauna. This is the best time for families to travel for a wide choice of activities.
September to November have some great autumn colors but can be rainy so offer a different experience of the islands. December sees very minimal daylight hours and therefore wouldn't be the strongest time to visit.
