The Hotel de Rome, in the heart of Berlin, offers not only a great location but style and comfort too. The high ceilings and open spaces of this classical building meld with modern touches and contemporary interiors to give the hotel a an air of openness and sophistication.

The rooms and suites at the Hotel de Rome can accommodate a king size bed or 2 singles, according to your preference. Many have a small balcony or terrace, overlooking the hotel courtyard or the Bebelplatz.

The hotel restaurant is one of the most popular in Berlin and has an Italian themed menu. The sophisticated surroundings offer an intimate feel to your meal which will consist of delicacies such as Insalata Caprese, Lobster Linguine and braised Veal. Breakfast is also served in the hotel restaurant and a variety of options are on offer, including your choice of omelette, pancakes with a selection of toppings, French toast, Belgian waffles and Eggs Benedict.

The Spa de Rome is built into the vaults that were in operation when the building served as a bank. The rooms that once contained jewels and gold have had a significant overhaul and now contains a 20 meter swimming pool, steam room, sauna and gym. The spa also offers a range of massages and treatments for both the body and the face.

Accommodation

The rooms and suites at the Hotel De Rome have a modern decor and offer either king beds or twins. All of the bathrooms have marble and mosaic features, much of which dates back to when the building was first used as a bank.

The suites have spacious seating areas and some offer the added luxury of a walk in wardrobe and dressing area.

Classic Room

The Classic Rooms boast great views of St Hedwig's Cathedral, the Französische Strasse or the hotel's attractive inner courtyard. Each room is spacious covering 36 square meters. Rooms come with a double bed or two twin beds and a living space complete with a desk and walk-in wardrobe. The spacious bathrooms are elegantly decorated with a marble and mosaic design with a separate shower and bathtub.

Deluxe Room

These spacious rooms start from 38 square meters with great views of St Hedwig’s Cathedral, Französische Strasse or the hotel's peaceful courtyard. Each room comes with a King size bed or two single beds and a working desk and walk- in wardrobe. The bathrooms are large and luxurious and are decorated in classic marble and mosaic designs.

Superior Deluxe Room

Large, spacious rooms offering beautiful views of Berlin form their balconies. The combined living area and bedroom cover 38 square meters and they come complete with a king size bed or two single beds. The spacious bathrooms are elegantly decorated with a marble and mosaic design with a separate shower and bathtub.

Junior Suite

The Junior Suites start from 50 square meters and offer great views of the city and some have an intimate terrace or balcony overlooking the hotel courtyard of the Bebelplatz. Rooms come complete with a king size bed or two single beds and a spacious seating area. The spacious bathrooms are elegantly decorated with a marble and mosaic design with a separate shower and bathtub.

Classic Suite

The Classic Suites boast panoramic views of Berlin and some have their own balcony. Each are sized from 60 square meters and the sleeping area has a walk-in wardrobe and king size bed. There also is a spacious living area perfect for relaxing in. The generously sized bathrooms are elegantly decorated with a marble and mosaic design with a separate shower and bathtub.

Terrace Suite

The hotel's top-floor suite boasts a large furnished wooden decking area with beautiful views over Bebelplatz and the city of Berlin. Inside, the open plan living area includes a king size bed, a large working desk and a roomy walk-in wardrobe. The spacious bathroom is finished in marble and mosaics and has a separate shower and bathtub. Room sizes are approximately 45 square meters.

Executive Suite

Each of the executive suites are located on the top floor of the hotel and each has their own terrace or balcony with views of the Französische Strasse or St Hedwig’s Cathedral. The bedroom comes equipped with a dressing room and a king size bed with a separate living area and cloakroom. The spacious bathrooms are elegantly designed in marble and mosaics. These suites starts from 75 square meters.

Gutmann Suite

This deluxe suite boasts a design that reflects the style and history of the city. It has Parquet floors. Leather-clad doors. Oak and mahogany panelling and even some visible shrapnel damage from World War II. The open plan bedroom has a king size bed and stunning high ceilings. The suite is approximately 65 square meters and has a spacious marble bathroom with striking sandstone mosaics and a shower and freestanding bathtub.

Behren Suite

This deluxe suite has great views and astonishing five meter high ceilings in the spacious living area and bedroom. Its design is rich in history with leather clad doors, walls covered with their original mahogany veneer and parquet flooring. The suite is approximately 65 square meters and has a spacious marble bathroom with striking sandstone mosaics and a shower and freestanding bathtub.

Renaissance Suite

Once a conference room, this suite has been converted yet original oak panelling covers the walls and ceiling and old phone booths have been skilfully converted into a bathroom and cupboard. The bedroom has a king size bed and the living area has parquet flooring, a large working desk and dining table. The suite has a spacious marble bathroom with striking sandstone mosaics and a shower, freestanding bathtub and under floor heating. These suites are approximately 80 square meters.

Humboldt Suite

This Suite is rich in history as the living room's oak clad ceiling dates from 1889. The bedroom has a leather-clad door and original beams and a king size bed. The living area also has a dining table and separate guest cloakroom. The suite is approximately 80 square meters and has a spacious marble bathroom with striking sandstone mosaics and a shower, freestanding bathtub, two hand basins and under floor heating.

Bebel Suite

This the largest suite in the hotel covering 200 square meters. It is located on the third floor and has hardwood floors and a 25m-wide balcony and a living room with a library with over a thousand books and 65 inch flat screen TV. The living area leads through to the grand bedroom with king size bed and walk in closet. The marble bathroom has a stand alone bath, separate shower and beautiful mosaic design.

Next to the study area, the dining room is ornately decorated and has a fully equipped pantry with its own service entrance and guest's cloakroom.

Childcare

The hotel has a fantastic policy towards families and children and endeavours to make its younger guests feel as welcome as its older ones. They offer separate check-in cards to help tots feel as grown up as their parents and their own welcome amenities in the rooms. There are a variety of games and movies available to keep kids entertained, and if that isn't enough, baking classes and mocktail classes can be arranged.

Facilities

La Banca is the hotel restaurant and offers a mouth watering array of Italian cuisine. During the summer months you can dine al fresco in the courtyard and enjoy the weather, whilst during the colder months, the restaurant interior is popular due to its warm elegance and sophisticated style.

The ever popular hotel bar has a wide selection of premium cognacs and wines, as well as champagne and cocktails. The bar menu includes lighter bites than the restaurant such as Caesar Salad with Chicken, Antipasti and Burgers. There is also the Opera Court, which serves Afternoon Tea on a daily basis, including finger sandwiches, scones and apple crumble.

When the sun is shining, there is the roof top terrace to take advantage of which is a fantastic place to sip a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the majestic city of Berlin.

Activities

Berlin has a wide range of activities to keep you entertained. From taking in the cities history to visiting the Christmas markets or the famed Beerkellers, Berlin will keep you on your toes.

If you don't want to venture out of the hotel, there are a wide range of movies and board games available and also the Spa and Fitness area which has a pool, sauna, steam room and gym.
