Founded by couple Marc and Mia Skvorc in 2005, Klaus K is a modern and smart design hotel in the center of Helsinki.
Originally the Klaus Kurki hotel, a landmark of the city for many years, the rechristened Klaus K is now a fashionable design hotel. Lead architects Antti-Matti Siikala and Sarlotta Narjos have created a stunning looking building, where each room unfolds itself like the eagerly-turned pages of the national epic which provides the theme for the building's new incarnation.
The public areas of the hotel are beautifully designed and very stylish, and yet welcoming and cosy, and the rooms, spread over the two buildings, are smart and functional.
Klaus K is inspired by Finland's national epic, the Kalevala. Each of the 137 playful guestrooms is named after one of the themes that illustrates the Kalevala's primary emotional elements: desire, passion, mysticism and envy.
The Sky Lofts include an elevated bedroom area, a relaxing seating area with sofas and a desk. The rooms offer more space and some have a ceiling window. The modern color schemes, designer lamps and a luxurious bathroom with a rain shower make this a superb choice. The size of the Sky Lofts varies from 31 to 37,5m².
At Klaus K breakfast and brunch are served in the new LIVINGROOM space and consist of fresh, healthy, nutritious and organically produced quality ingredients, interspersed with sweet treats! The ground floor Italian restaurant, Toscanini, is open to residents and the public, and is a popular informal spot. In the basement the Ahjo Bar & Club is ideal for young urban city people who like good music, great atmosphere, and awesome cocktails.
Helsinki Day Spa is a soothing place of relaxation next door to the hotel. Guests can spend an invigorating hour or two, or even a day there unwinding. There is direct access from the hotel and a range of facial and body treatments and massage services are available.
Our gym provides a broad range of modern equipment for fitness enthusiasts. The gym is open 24h, allowing you to exercise according to your schedules.

When to go
Helsinki is a year round destination but is at its best in spring and summer. From May to September temperatures are warm, early twenties but in the height of summer can reach up to 30 degrees and the sun doesn't set until around 10:30pm, rising at around 3:00am so you can really pack a lot in! During the winter temperatures do get cold but it is a great place to go for a pre-Christmas getaway.
