Prague is a year-round destination. The Christmas markets are particularly fun and great for getting into the festive spirit. The city looks particularly beautiful in Spring, especially around April when the magnolia trees come into blossom. Some of the best weather for sight-seeing can be had in autumn, when days are generally mild and clear.

Augustine is a five-star luxury hotel and spa in the historic heart of Prague. With parts of the property dating back to the thirteenth century, this stunning hotel is the perfect base to soak up the city's historical wonders in comfort.

Augustine is located in Prague's Malá Strana, a district steeped in history and stunning architecture. Seven buildings linked around picturesque gardens make up this dramatic property, the oldest part of which - the Augustinian St Thomas’s Monastery - was built in the thirteenth century. Several practising monks are still in residence nearby and can sometimes be seen sharing the landscaped grounds with guests.

Living quarters are considerably more comfortable these days, with 101 beautifully finished bedrooms and suites. Stylish and comfortable, the rooms have been sympathetically converted with vaulted ceilings and iron doors giving a nod to the building's past. The Tower Suite is the cream of the crop: a three-floor space with panoramic city views located in the monastery’s original tower.

Along with an award-winning restaurant the hotel also has two watering holes, a relaxed cafe & bar as well as the St Thomas Brewery Bar, which was once the cellar of the original St Thomas brewery. The resident stalactites and stalagmites stand testament to centuries of use and the place is still a favourite local haunt.

Prague is a lively capital with a medieval centre of cobbled lanes and courtyards, old churches, an ancient castle, traditional taverns, gourmet restaurants and vibrant bars. If you can tear yourself away from the hotel, Prague Castle, the famous Charles Bridge and the Wallenstein Garden are all within easy reach. The latter plays host to classical open-air concerts which are held between April and October.

Elegantes is housed in a glass-covered courtyard that, uniquely, incorporates three listed trees; it offers a sophisticated European menu including local Czech specialties. With its door-to-ceiling windows overlooking a spacious terrace, the restaurant is a light, relaxing space in the heart of historic Prague. The combination of excellent service and calm ambiance creates a truly memorable dining experience. In summer, al fresco dining on the terrace adds another elegant element to the restaurant.

Highlights of the Elegantes menu include dishes created with the hotel’s own St Thomas Beer, accompanied by an international and innovative wine list that challenges diners to try something new.

The restaurant adheres to a smart dress code and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week.

1887 bar is located in a delightful barrel-vaulted hall that was once the monastery refectory. The bar features high ceilings with carefully restored 19th century baroque frescoes and there is outside seating under cloistered terraces during the warmer months. 1887 bar now offers hand-crafted cocktails specially created by award winning mixologists, including the bar’s signature “Angel Cocktail”.

St Thomas Brewery Bar is a popular meeting place for locals and is available for groups to hire in its entirety as a characterful and inimitable venue. The atmospheric basement bar features original 17th century stalactites and stalagmites and terracotta.
