This lovely lodge offers just 12 bungalows set in pretty gardens or down by the beach close to Haapiti on Moorea's West Coast.
A welcome contrast to the 5 star resorts of the island, the Moorea Beach Lodge offers a relaxed stay with simple bungalows and a beautiful location for experiencing Polynesian life.
The lodge offers breakfast each morning, served by the lagoon. There's no restaurant on site, however, there is a catering service to have meals delivered to your bungalow in the evening. Several restaurants are also within easy reach. There is also a kitchen for guests use (14 years and over) should you wish to self cater.
A stay at Moorea Beach Lodge is all about island life. Take one of the complimentary bikes and explore the island or a kayak or canoe out on the lagoon is the perfect way to while away a couple of hours. There are sun beds on the beach and beach towels are provided for guests use.
Moorea Beach Lodge may not offer the bells and whistles of the resort style hotels, however, what it does offer is a charming and authentic Polynesian stay for those who are happy with the independence of a bed and breakfast and their toes in the sand.
Moorea Beach Lodge offers 7 garden bungalows, 4 beach bungalows and 1 honeymoon bungalow. Each has a traditional pandanus roof and has been tastefully furnished with recessed lighting and hardwood floors. Sliding doors lead out to a furnished terrace with dining area. Each of the bungalows has air conditioning, ceiling fan, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, daily housekeeping, in room WiFi, mini fridge and in room safe. All have en suite bathrooms with shower only. Cots are available on request. The garden and beach bungalows can take a maximum of 3 people.
The garden bungalows are either semi detached or detached and look out over the majestic Banyan of the property. The beach bungalows are semi detached and look out over the lagoon. The honeymoon bungalow is stand alone and is slightly smaller than the other bungalows, however, has the best location overlooking the beach.
Children are welcome at the lodge and the lagoon and beach bungalows are perfect for little ones. Each bungalow can take 3 people in total and cots can be provided. No connecting bungalows are available.
The lodge features a small lounge area for guests use and a verandah where a continental breakfast is served each morning. There's also a professional kitchen on site for guest use. WiFi is available throughout the property. Bikes, kayaks and canoes are also available but it is recommended these are pre booked as are limited in numbers. Beach towels are also provided.
There is no restaurants on site, however, guests can have local takeaway services delivered to their bungalows.

When to go
Warm tropical year round temperatures, the Society Islands are a tropical destination so humidity, rain, sunshine and heat are all to be considered. There are two seasons: the Summer which is from November through March and Winter which is from April through October. The average temperature in Summer is about 30°C and in the drier Winter the average temperature is about 28°C. Most rainfall is during the Summer months with high humidity. The best time weather wise with the least risk of storms is in their Winter months. June to August is windy season and can be extremely gusty.
