Fenua Mata I'Oa is set on the edge of one of the beautiful lagoons in northern Moorea and although it doesn't have its own beach, guests can enjoy a lagoon front deck with beautiful views and sun loungers to while away the day on. If you need to cool off, take a dip in the lagoon or take a step up to the hotel's friendly bar for a refreshing drink or exotic cocktail.
Guests can choose whether to have breakfast and dinner included in their stay or take the opportunity to head out and eat locally. Your friendly hosts will be happy to make recommendations.
The order of the day here is all about relaxation and laid back living. If you wish to explore perhaps take to a dugout canoe or kayak or go snorkeling in the lagoon, watching out for rays, colorful fishes and occasionally sharks. Reva Junior Suite offers a bed covered in Indian silk, walls of plaited bamboo, objects of wood and a wrought iron sofa. It has its own private terrace and garden as well as being air conditioned with mini bar, TV with DVD player and internet
Hereiti Junior Suite guests enjoy a fusion of Egyptian and African tastes with bright colors. A living room leads into the bedroom with beautiful sky bed. The private terrace is well furnished and leads to a private garden

Fenua Mata I'Oa is a small boutique hotel so the experience here is laid back and simple. They have a comfortable and eclectically furnished guest lounge and beautiful tropical gardens with hidden areas to sit and relax. The decking along the waterfront houses the relaxed bar, the perfect place for a sundowner cocktail or drink before dinner. Step down to a line of comfortable sun loungers to relax and take in the wonderful lagoon view from.
Here, the principal activity is idleness. Spend the days sipping a cocktail, taking a dip in the lagoon or simply sitting in quiet contemplation. If you wish to venture out, the hotel can arrange bike or car hire for you to discover Moorea. Alternatively, take to a dugout canoe and explore the coastline, swim with rays and sharks (masks and snorkels provided) or, during the summer months, take a trip out to see the whales that frequent these warm waters.
For a very special day out, you can spend the day on your own private motu island. Maire and Jean Pierre will take you out to your own island where Jean Pierre will prepare you a special Polynesian meal. Dine with your feet in the sand or in the lagoon, spend the afternoon under the shade of an umbrella and enjoy a unique and romantic experience.

When to go
Warm tropical year round temperatures, the Society Islands are a tropical destination so humidity, rain, sunshine and heat are all to be considered. There are two seasons: the Summer which is from November through March and Winter which is from April through October. The average temperature in Summer is about 30°C and in the drier Winter the average temperature is about 28°C. Most rainfall is during the Summer months with high humidity. The best time weather wise with the least risk of storms is in their Winter months. June to August is windy season and can be extremely gusty.
