Located in the heart of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, Hayman Island is the northernmost of the Whitsunday Islands off the coast of Queensland. As much as 70% of the region is protected as National and Marine Park and many of the activities focus on this beautiful environment. Hayman Beach hugs the resort and offers year-round swimming, catamaran sailing, windsurfing and paddle skiing - all complimentary. Nearby Blue Pearl Bay and Langford Spit (both accessible by speedboat) are ideal for snorkeling and picnic lunches. Day trips to other islands and remote reefs can be arranged by boat, by seaplane or by helicopter. There are nature trails, a 9-hole putting green and a variety of classes that you might like to join.
The Great Barrier Reef offers some of the most spectacular diving to be experienced anywhere in the world. Hayman operates a fleet of custom-made dive boats, speedboats and ocean cruisers. Larger vessels are specially equipped to explore the outer reef, while Reef Dancer, their semi-submersible craft, is a great way to view the undersea world of coral formations and tropical fish. As part of a coral atoll, Hayman also offers remarkable snorkeling and scuba experiences, especially at Blue Pearl Bay on the other side of the island. Hayman offers everything from a 10-minute try-dive experience to full PADI Open Water certification, all geared to get you out there enjoying the corals and tropical fish quickly and safely.
Located on the tranquil eastern side of the resort, all rooms and suites in the Hayman Wing will be newly refurbished with a chic sophistication. Generously spacious and set within a lush landscape, accommodation features either a view of the ocean or the verdant grounds — all within steps of Hayman Beach and the Coral Sea.
Overlooking the iconic pool with breathtaking views of the Coral Sea, the Pool Wing offers all-suite accommodation in one-bedroom or two-bedroom configuration. All suites provide separate living and dining areas plus spacious decks for relaxing. The pool-level one-bedroom suites also offer swim-out access to the pool directly from the terrace.
A spectacular collection of Kerry Hill-designed Beach Villas are perched along the sandy bay providing direct access to Hayman Beach and Coral Sea. Beach Villas each feature a private pool and can be combined with Retreat Rooms to provide a second room for families. A private Beach House is also available for those seeking ultimate privacy, with a pool and secluded outdoor leisure space.

This is the premium accommodation offering on Hayman featuring presidential size sitting room, 3 bedrooms, dining area, kitchenette and bar.

Beach Villas are not suitable for children aged under 13 years. Hayman has an array of other accommodation options which are preferred for children.

One&Only Hayman Island is the most northerly of the Whitsunday Islands, part of the Cumberland Islands on the Great Barrier Reef, located off the coast of Central Queensland, Australia.
When to go
As Hayman Island is in the Whitsundays and not as far north as some islands on the Great Barrier Reef, the weather is not quite so extreme. The best time to visit is still between April and October but it is still well worth a visit the rest of the year.
