In the southern half of Australia the seasons are the opposite of those in the northern hemisphere: spring comes in September, summer is from December to February, autumn runs from March to May, and winter begins in June.
Sydney is great to visit year round but if you want warm sun and dry weather it is best to try between November and April. Their winter months of May - October usually have mild weather so you can still enjoy all the sights.

Pier One is a contemporary, boutique hotel in Sydney, located right by the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The hotel is a wonderful option for those who want to be near the heart of the action, as you are in easy walking distance to The Rocks, the harbor front and the famous Sydney Opera House. The property is much smaller compared to many other hotels in the area and the rooms too are also arguably a little cosier in terms of size compared to elsewhere. However, the hotel has a wonderful onsite restaurant called The Gantry which serves modern Australian fare, and the buffet breakfast offered at Pier One is also plentiful. The hotel is definitely suitable to both families and couples alike; especially those who are wanting to explore the city predominantly on foot.
