Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
The best time to visit the UAE is between October and November and then February and March, when temperatures hang around the mid-20s and the humidity is under control. While December and January are generally considered the best months to go, the weather over the last couple of ‘winters’ has been unpredictable with occasional cloud and rain.
The month of Ramadan means hotel rates are heavily discounted, but while outside the resort, Ramadan is strictly adhered to, within the resorts you will notice very little difference.
High summer (July and August) means heavy discounted hotels it’s a great option for a cheap getaway but it will be very very hot and very very humid!

The Jumeirah Beach Hotel was built in the 1980s and a rather famous hotel in Dubai, from the outside the hotel looks like a traditional boat sail and they have 598 rooms with sea view and 19 one and two bedroom villas perfect for families. I would say the hotel has a mix of a traditional Arabic and contemporary feel. They claim they are one of the most contemporary on Jumeirah Beach. There is the famous Wild Wadi Waterpark onsite, where guests have unlimited access staying at the hotel. Couples also stay here as they have lovely views and of course access to the beach I personally think the best views in Dubai over the Beach, Marina, water park & Burj al Arab, as other hotels I saw always looked onto building sites as Dubai is growing constantly! Should you like Villa style accommodation for your family the 2 bedroom Villa could also work nicely for you.
This hotel is a good alternative to the Atlantis as it is a little smaller, a higher quality and you still have the waterpark onsite and you can pop to the Atlantis larger waterpark for a day or two should you like to? All rooms they will allow 2 adults and 2 children up to the age of 12 years, which keeps the cost down slightly. There is a kids club from 2-12 years and a Teens club from 12-17 years, keeping all of the family entertained. A nice little touch I noticed as they popped around giving children ice lollies by the pool in the heat. They also offer Complimentary introduction to diving in the swimming pool should you like to try it, then you can pay and move to the sea should you enjoy yourselves.

JBH was one of the original Dubai hotels built back in the 80s and its retained the feeling of luxury along with some of the questionable dcor choices. What I really liked are the views which stretch from one end of Jumeirah Beach to other with the towering Burj Al Arab directly in front. The hotel has an excellent beach with a full list of activities and water sports so perfect for families. It also has separate family, adult and childrens pools so couples can easily find a quieter area whilst there will always be plenty of other children around to interact with each other. A word of warning that whilst all non-motorized water sports are free to try for an hour each morning any additional activities will be charged. There is also the excellent Wild Wadi waterpark linked to the resort and guests have free access here at any time during their stay. A great family resort which guarantees youll never be bored.
