Oman is bathed in sunshine all year round, perfect for a beach break or heading into the interior on a more adventurous itinerary. It is a perfect winter-sun destination from October to April offering temperatures between 25 and 35 degrees by day and 17 to 19 degrees at night, getting a little warmer in the summer months (but comparable to Florida for instance so possible as a stop-over to Sri Lanka or the Maldives for instance). At this time, you could spend some time in Muscat before going into the mountains for cooler climes where it is less humid and ideal to go walking or cycling. Salalah in the south receives the ‘Khareef’ or Monsoon from July to August which brings out the lush green colours that are so dramatic to experience following the monsoon in the autumn. Salalah offers one of the most pleasant climates in the whole of Arabia and is worth combining with a stay in Muscat during the winter months.
