Al Bustan Palace has a reputation as one of the most established hotels in the Middle East. The Palace was built to accommodate visiting heads of state and the high levels of service and comfort given to those rulers are also afforded to all its guests.
The famous lobby of the hotel is 38 meters high, and glimmers with gold, polished marble and a huge chandelier. The bedrooms are furnished in an Arabic style, with a hint of art deco, using opulent color schemes. The room style and grand public areas give the hotel a fairly formal feel for the interior, whereas the gardens and beach offer a relaxing place to enjoy the sunshine and perhaps a cocktail or two or light meal from the recently refurbished BLU bar.
Other dining choices include the Al Khiran Terrace Restaurant, which offers a buffet featuring a different theme each evening, China Mood, serving Asian dishes, and the Beach Pavilion, which has a varied menu of fresh seafood and grill options. High Tea is served in the Atrium Lounge each afternoon.
The hotel has a stunning one kilometer stretch of private unspoiled beach, boasting one of the best vistas in the area. There are a number of outdoor pools, including a 50 meter infinity pool and children's pool, as well as tennis courts and a gym.
Al Bustan has recently opened a wonderful Six Senses Spa, which is set to the side of the resort to ensure absolute peace and tranquillity. There are 17 treatment rooms with a natural and relaxing design, a selection of saunas and steam rooms, a juice station, a fitness area and yoga pavilion.
Al Bustan Palace offers guests 218 Rooms and 40 Suites. Interconnecting rooms are available for families. Rooms offer a wide range of amenities including cable / satellite TV, minibar and tea and coffee making facilities, and all suites can have a butler service on request.
The rooms and suites have been designed to reflect both local traditions and art deco influences, creating luxurious rooms full of comfort and modern amenities. Rooms and suites either have magnificent views of the mountains, sea or gardens.
Children are welcome to come and stay at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel. They are well accommodated for with a children's pool, a playground, and a baby sitting service available upon request. There are also interconnecting rooms to comfortably accommodate families.
Facilities at the Al Bustan Palace include a wonderful new Six Senses Spa, a health and fitness center, business center, children’s play area, children’s pool, four tennis courts, five restaurants and two bars.
From the China Mood which serves fresh and authentic Chinese cuisine to the all-day buffet at the Al Khiran Terrace restaurant and the relaxed seaside Beach Pavilion Restaurant & Bar, the onsite Al Bustan restaurants have something to suit all taste buds.
During your stay at The Al Bustan Palace you can enjoy snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and tennis. When to go
The best time to visit Oman is between November and mid-March, when the cooler air brings the mountain scenery sharply into focus and daytime temperatures average at 25°C. For the rest of the year, much of Oman is oppressively hot and hazy, particularly between May and August.
