Average time to visit
For a small country, Jordan has an extraordinary range of climates. The best time to visit climate-wise is in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the daytime temperatures aren't too extreme. April is probably the best month, when temperatures are warm and wildflowers are in bloom. March can be cold and rainy in the north but is balmy by the Gulf of Aqaba and the Dead Sea.
To start planning your vacation to Movenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay
Located on the shores of the Red Sea, the Movenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay is just 15-minutes from the center of Aqaba in southern Jordan. The resort has plenty of facilities for both couples and families, including its own dive center and private beach.
The Movenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay has 302 rooms. The rooms are fairly simple but very comfortable, with private balconies and either double or twins beds. There are family rooms available which offer a main bedroom with a double bed and then a second smaller room with twin beds.
The Red Sea is known for its fantastic diving and snorkeling, with a vast range of stunning coral and marine life. The hotel makes the most of this with its own dive center and jetties. All ages and experience levels are catered for, with daily snorkeling and diving excursions along the coast and on the house reef.
Other water-based activities include jet skiing, water skiing, banana boat and tube rides, speed boat trips and sunset cruises. There are three large swimming pools, three Jacuzzis, a lazy river, a kids' pool and kids' club as well as a 150-meter private beach, meaning there is plenty to keep the whole family busy.
There are eight restaurants and bars in the resort, including Najel, which serves buffet breakfast and dinner and a la carte throughout the day, and Casalingo, which offers tempting Italian dishes.
The Zara Spa provides a haven of tranquility, with award-winning treatments using traditional and holistic techniques and products such as Dead Sea minerals and Thalgo aromatherapy oils.
The hotel has 302 rooms and suites, including 145 family rooms. All rooms have balconies or terraces and modern amenities, including air conditioning, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities and, as an added luxury, a free mini bar.
The Dana Kids' Club is available for children aged 4-12. Children under 4 can attend but must be accompanied by an adult. Activities include face-painting, pastry classes, storytelling, water sports and games and there is also a nap room. There is a small daily charge for the Kids' Club, including an extra supplement for lunch, but access to the children's pool is complimentary.
The resort has its own dive center, 150-meter private beach and jetties. There are a number of swimming pools, including three Jacuzzis, a kids' pool and a lazy river.
There is a complimentary mini gym, fitted with cardiovascular and weight-resistance machines as well as free weights. Guests can also enjoy award-winning treatments at the Zara Spa.
There are eight restaurants and bars within the resort, including Najel, an all-day dining restaurant which also offers buffet breakfasts and dinners. Casalingo, serves Italian specialties and an extensive selection of wines, and Sejan, the poolside restaurant has a menu of salads and snacks, pizzas and pastas and a variety of cocktails and juices.
There is plenty to do in and around the resort. Make the most of the Red Sea's spectacular marine life with diving and snorkeling trips, or for those who would prefer to stay above water, there is sailing and cruises, including glass-bottomed boats.
Despite Tala Bay's seaside location, it does not take long to reach the desert, which can be explored by Jeep or on a quad-bike.

The first thing that struck me about the Movenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay was how colorful it was - the bright green of the gardens contrasting with the dark red of the hotel, and the different shades of blue of the swimming pool and the Red Sea. However, the rooms themselves are very simple, with white bed linen and wooden furniture and balconies, which feels relaxing and comfortable.
With its own dive center and private jetties, the resort is a great option for those keen to explore the amazing marine life of the Red Sea. As Aqaba is within easy reach of Petra and Wadi Rum, it also makes a fantastic place to stop off for a few days of sunshine and sea.
The family rooms and Kids Club make the Movenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay a particularly good option for families with younger children, and the eight restaurants throughout the resort mean everyone is catered for.
Diving in Aqaba
Diving or snorkeling in the Red Sea at Aqaba is like entering an entirely new world. The water is incredibly blue and the coral and fish so brightly colored that it is difficult to tear yourself away.
Jeep Ride in Wadi Rum
Wadi Rum offers stunning vistas, wide open spaces and fascinating natural rock structures. You will have a one-hour jeep ride here to visit the Khazali Canyon, the rock bridges, Lawrence of Arabia's house and ancient Nabataean inscriptions.
Please note that check-in is at 4pm (1600 hours) for all Movenpick properties in Jordan.
|Outdoor Pool in Maintenance||
Please note that Leisure Pool (also known as Sejan or the Snail Pool) will be closed as of 10th of December 2018 for 30 days. Right after the completion of the maintenance work for the Leisure Pool, the Beach Pool will also be closed for 20 days for maintenance.
