The Movenpick consists of a total of 340 rooms and suites. The resort is split into two sections – the main block’s rooms mostly have views over the sea and have easy access to the lobby and nearby facilities while the other guest rooms are located in two-storey village complexes built with traditional stone and named after archaeological sites in Jordan. They are located between the main building and the sea. The rooms are beautifully furnished with all the modern amenities. They also come with WiFi internet and connecting rooms are available for families, as are suites with separate bedrooms.
There are six main restaurants, mainly located in the Village Square, offering a complete range of culinary options, from the refined Chopsticks to the comfortable and traditional Italian restaurant Luigi's. There is also a number of bars including Al Khayyam which often has a belly dancer performing. The ZARA Spa is one of the largest and most advanced in the Middle East and offers a whole range of 'Dead Sea’ treatments, which can be complemented by the healthy offerings of the Juice Bar, and a number of pools within the complex.
The Movenpick contains a total of two freshwater pools and two private pools. They also have a children’s pool and Kid’s Club and can offer baby sitting. There are tennis courts and a fitness room. Other activities nearby include golf and hiking through the Wadi Mujib Gorge.
Movenpick Resort offers 340 Rooms - 114 Standard Rooms, 130 Superior Rooms, 51 Deluxe Rooms, 30 Premium Rooms, seven Junior Suites, five Executive Suites and one Royal Suite. All 346 rooms are luxuriously furnished in warm and natural colors. The latest Beach Rooms and Beach Suites are contemporary in design with modern furnishings and large terraces. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, satellite TV, direct-dial phone, coffee and tea-making facilities and a safe. There is also a complimentary minibar available in all rooms.
Children are welcome at the Movenpick Resort and are very well looked after at the Dana Children's Activity Center (3-12 years), at a cost of JD3 an hour. Children can enjoy painting, playing games or participating in a program of other fun-filled activities that changes every day. The full-day program also includes lunch and refreshments including use of both indoor and outdoor playing facilities, a shaded children’s pool and a nap area with themed beds. The Dana Children's Activity Center is supervised by professional caretakers but children below 3 yrs of age must be accompanied by an adult. A babysitting service can be provided on request.
Facilities at the resort include six restaurants, three bars and cafes, fitness room, activity studio, two freshwater pools, private Jacuzzi, children’s pool, Kid’s Club, two tennis courts, solarium, therapy center and the ZARA Spa.
Foodies are in for a treat as Movenpick Resort and Spa offers a range of culinary specials to keep you coming back for more. From casual al fresco dining to special buffets and BBQ feasts, you will find a world of choice under one roof. The hotel also offers a Go Healthy menu which offers delicious and nutritious dishes which are sought sustainably.
The Zara Spa has a fabulous range of treatments to help relax and rejuvenate your mind and soul. The Dead Sea's therapeutic waters are also known for their healing properties. The spa also includes hydro pools and whirlpools, steam rooms and tropical scent showers.
Take a swim in one of the freshwater and saline swimming pools, indulge in one of the many health and beauty treatments at the ZARA spa, hit the beach for some volleyball, take to the tennis courts or enjoy complimentary use of the fully equipped fitness center. You can play golf on the only golf course in Jordan only 60kms away and there is some fantastic hiking at Wadi Mujib.
In terms of sightseeing, Madaba and Mount Nebo are located not too far away, and the legendary Petra is a drive of 3.5 hours. The Roman ruins of Jerash are an hour and a half to the north of the Movenpick. Scott Dunn can tailor-make private sightseeing tours to any of these locations.

Set on the northern shores of the Dead Sea at the lowest point on Earth Located on the northern shores of the Dead Sea, the resort is just 55 km from Amman city. The Dead Sea is conveniently located, just 1 hour from Amman and 45 minutes from the airport and 3.5 hours from Petra.
When to go
For a small country, Jordan has an extraordinary range of climates. The best time to visit climate-wise is in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the daytime temperatures aren't too extreme. April is probably the best month, when temperatures are warm and wildflowers are in bloom. March can be cold and rainy in the north but is balmy by the Gulf of Aqaba and the Dead Sea.
