Nepal has a Monsoonal climate with four main seasons. Autumn and spring are the two most favourable seasons for visiting Nepal. Autumn (September to early December) brings in clear weather with sunny days and warm nights. Spring (March to May) with occasional rain falls. From June to September, is the monsoon season. Uncomfortable time to visit as the climate of Nepal at this time of year brings about hot weather and rain falls almost every day.
This is an ideal family adventure.

With excellent food and service, the tented wilderness camp of Ker and Downey Seti River Camp, accessed only by boat, provides a fantastic overnight stop on your Nepalese rafting adventure between Pokhara and Chitwan.
The Ker and Downey Seti River Camp, located right on the banks of the Seti River, offers en-suite tents, delicious cuisine and plenty of space to unwind and relax. As the camp sits half way along your rafting adventure along the Seti River here you will have the opportunity to be as active or relaxed as you wish, with plenty of walks to be taken in the area alongside a plethora of places to relax including small hammocks and outdoor seating from which to soak in your surroundings.
As there is no road access to Seti River Camp the area is totally unspoiled and remote. The camp is set within a grove of trees and is just moments from the beach and river. Accommodation consists of safari style tents with separate washing facilities and all the amenities required for your stay. There is a main dining area where both continental and Nepalese cuisine is served. Given the remote location there is no electricity and so kerosene lamps, torches and candles are provided. Throughout your stay you will be looked after by the fantastic Ker and Downey staff, who are very knowledgeable and passionate about the places they take you to see.
The most popular rafting trip incorporating Seti River Camp takes two days and is a fantastic experience for those after a little adventure. The rafts are imported from America and are 14 foot long, crewed by experienced guides and boat boys. As a guest you can choose to paddle or simply enjoy the scenery.
Ker and Downey Seti River Camp have just 16 safari style tents, with separate washing facilities and all the amenities required for your stay. Each tent offers twin beds, hot running water and flush toilets.
The Ker and Downey Seti River Camp offers guests a main dining area where both continental and Nepalese cuisine is served. They offer a happy hour from 6-7pm. There are hammocks throughout the camp to take a good book and rest after a day of rafting.
There are opportunities to trek from the camp into the rural areas located nearby. These see almost no tourists and would require an extra day at the camp. The rafting is conducted by experienced staff and on a private basis. Your bags are kept in water-tight drums.
The rafting down the Seti River is an ideal way to link Pokhara and Chitwan. What I found most amazing was that the camp was located in a very remote part of Nepal, far from any road or dusty town. If you have two days at the camp you can take a day walk to local villages which offer a very authentic look into rural Nepalese community life. The rafting is good, with some rapids to get the heart beat going, but on the whole it is more of a float with a few rapids along the way. The water is higher at the end of monsoon (in October) and the river is unraftable from May onwards. In fact, its best to avoid April as it will be very hot and the tents do not have air conditioning.
Rafting the Seti River in Nepal is one of the most rewarding experiences in this magical country. The Seti River creates an excellent link between trekking in the Annapurna Range and Pokhara with the wildlife reserve of Chitwan.
