Situated in the northern end of the Dhaalu Atoll, the St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is a small island towards the center of the archipelago, sheltering the resort from swells running up the Indian Ocean. St Regis Vommuli has always been intended to offer a real departure from the traditional Maldivian getaway, this island moves away from the classic Maldivian thatch, taking design cues from the nature surrounding it. From the award-winning design of the Whale Bar, through to the shell inspired library, the buildings on the island all take on an organic shape, with muted, subtle colors provided by the wooden tiled buildings that change in tone according the weather.
The St Regis Vommuli also has some of the most innovative and high specification accommodation in the Maldives. A smart, minimalist philosophy has been applied to all rooms with light color schemes with the occasional pop of color, providing an extremely comfortable experience. All rooms feature full iPad control system, allowing you to operate everything from the blinds, air conditioning and the Bang & Olufsen entertainment system.
Those who have stayed at other St Regis properties will love that the quintessential St Regis service DNA has been retained, your butler is there for your every whim and need. However, this is the Maldives and flip flops are still the footwear of choice!
This juxtaposition of high end service set in a relaxed atmosphere is a refreshing take on the Maldivian experience. Vommuli is a place you can dress up or down for, barefoot or shoes, the choice is yours.
Families will also revel in the facilities, from the simply stunning two bedroom beach villas to the fantastic Vommuli house complex, the excellent kids club, yoga studio, gym and fitness areas.
The award-winning Iridium spa is located on its own overwater branch, designed to resemble a lobster from above, with 6 private treatment rooms, as well as saunas and steam rooms. With a full time Ayurvedic doctor offering full lifestyle assessments and treatment programs, you will be guaranteed to leave the spa walking taller than when you entered. The crowning piece of the Iridium Spa is the enormous thalassotherapy infinity pool, looking straight out into the Indian Ocean.
Along with a host of activities, including aerial yoga, kitesurfing, diving, sailing, windsurfing and tennis to name but a few, St Regis Vommuli is an unforgettable destination for your luxury trip to the Maldives.

When to go
The Maldives has a tropical climate distinguished by two seasons, or monsoons: the dry northeast monsoon which runs from December to March, and the wet southwestern monsoon from May to November, with more strong winds and rain. April is a transitional period noted for clear water and heat. The temperature remains remarkably consistent at around 30°C.
February to April is the hottest period and resorts are almost all operating at capacity during this period. Mid-December to early January comes at even more of a premium due to Christmas and New Year and prices are even higher. Easter and the Italian vacation week in August also attract peak prices at most resorts.
Storms are more likely from May to November, though it’s still warm, skies can be cloudy and the humidity is higher. This is the low season, with fewer people and lower prices, with the exception of August.
Diving is good year-round, although a basic rule is that life on the reef is more varied and visibility better on the western side of any atoll from May to November and from the eastern side of any atoll December to April.
The surfing season runs from March to October, which is also when resorts tend to be at their cheapest.
