The Maldives has a tropical climate distinguished by two seasons, or monsoons: the dry northeast monsoon from December to March, and the wet southwestern monsoon from May to November, with more strong winds and rain. April is a transitional period noted for clear water and heat. The temperature remains remarkably consistent at around 30°C.
February to April is the hottest period and resorts are almost all operating at capacity during this period. Mid-December to early January comes at even more of a premium due to Christmas and New Year and prices are even higher. Easter and the Italian vacation week in August also attract peak prices at most resorts.
Storms are more likely from May to November, though it’s still warm, skies can be cloudy and the humidity is higher. This is the low season, with fewer people and lower prices, with the exception of August.
Diving is good year-round, although a basic rule is that life on the reef is more varied and visibility better on the western side of any atoll from May to November and from the eastern side of any atoll December to April.
The surfing season runs from March to October, which is when resorts are cheapest.

Huvafen Fushi is a very special place. There is something quite enchanting about this small island. It is one of the most relaxing resorts I've been to in the Maldives and is the perfect destination for a honeymoon or a romantic getaway. The food is exquisite (I would highly recommend their signature seafood platter) and the staff are all very welcoming and friendly, making your whole experience there very personal while giving you the space to enjoy your vacation.

A true paradise island and ultimate 5* luxury. From the moment you arrive, you will be made to feel completely relaxed and at home, the service is second to none and your personal butler will always go the extra mile to make sure you have the perfect vacation. Huvafen Fushi hosts the worlds first underwater spa which is an absolute must! The food in all the restaurants is exquisite however for a truly special experience, why not arrange destination dining at any one of the 10 spots on the island where your private chef and staff will completely personalize the evening to suit you. Perfect for honeymooners and couples.

Just a 30-minute speedboat journey from Male makes Huvafen Fushi in the North Male Atoll one of the most accessible islands. This paradise is ideal for couples looking to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and stunning surroundings. The villas are contemporary and all come with a private plunge pool and a private butler who will be on hand to help with any requests. Dine in any of the four restaurants from fine dining at Salt or enjoy a sundowner at Raw Bar overlooking the water.
Huvafen Fushi is home to the only underwater spa in the Maldives, and is a must visit during your stay. Visit either for a relaxing spa treatment where you can watch the fish swim past, or in the evening where it turns into a SpaQuarium where you can gaze at the coral and fish using UV light - the colors are fascinating!

Huvafen Fushi is the perfect island to getaway from it all, especially good for couples. Just a 30-minute speedboat ride from Male makes this island one of the quickest to get to and it's stunning! From the moment you arrive at the dock you will be looked after by your own butler and you can completely switch off and relax.
We stayed in one of the beautiful Ocean Bungalows set out on the water. Upon entering the bungalow the first thing you see is the magnificent glass floor in the living area that allows you a glimpse down into the water below with its abundant marine life. At night the water is lit and it looks even more magical. These bungalows are perfect for couples but it's worth knowing that if you are traveling with a child an extra bed can be made up in the living area with their own personal aquarium at their feet! The bathrooms are huge and offer a large Jacuzzi-style tub as well as large walk in shower. The real wow for me here though was the glorious infinity edged pool outside on your private deck with steps leading down straight into the ocean.

One of our favorites, Huvafen Fushi never fails to impress or surprise. Ultimately romantic the villas all have private plunge pools and every mod con you could imagine. For a change, the plunge pools in the Beach Bungalows are to the rear of the residences, behind the bathroom area in the walled garden, complete with day bed. Options over the water are equally stunning and if you can stretch to the Ocean Bungalows, the extra space is especially decadent. For families the Pavilions (one on the beach and two over the water) are huge two bedroom residences with private swimming pools and personal butlers. The underwater spa is a destination in itself and treatments have been designed for you to enjoy the fish swimming around the treatment room. The three restaurants serve excellent food (there is no where I enjoy sashimi more) and their stylish bar shows classic Bond movies twice a week. Daniel Craigs and Moneypennys welcome.
