Every villa and suite has its own private pool, from the Beach Villas with direct access to the beach, to the Ocean Suites accessible only by speedboat. Jumeirah Vittaveli's two-bedroom Beach Suites are ideal for families as they can accommodate up to six guests.
Sinbad's kids' club at Jumeirah Vittaveli caters for children from the ages of 3 to 12 years and there is even a children's swimming pool. The island also has a Teen Lounge meaning that younger guests will never be bored, with a rotating activity schedule which even features tree planting.
Jumeirah Vittaveli's Talise Spa features treatments from Thai and Balinese massages to crystal healing facials. The Beach Suites have two bedrooms and are split over two levels, with a separate sitting room and even its own rooftop terrace. They measure 302sq.meters in size and can accommodate up to six adults, or three adults and three children under 12.

The Water Villas, accessed by the jetty, measure 200sq.meters and have a glass floor in the sitting room so that you can peer into the sea. They have one bedroom and can accommodate up to two adults and two children, or three adults and one child under 12.

Accessible only by speedboat, the Ocean Suites make for a unique stay. Measuring 256sq.meters, they are the epitome of luxury and escapism and can accommodate up to a maximum of two adults and two children, or three adults and one child under 12.
Jumeirah Vittaveli's kids' club, Sinbad's, is open to children from the ages of 3 to 12 years. Under 3 years need to be accompanied by a parent or babysitter, which can be organized by your butler, and this service is also available outside the kids club. There is also a Teen Lounge which guests from the age of 12 to 16 years can attend.
There are three restaurants at Jumeirah Vittaveli. Fenesse is available for dinner and serves Mediterranean cuisine prepared in an open kitchen, and it also has a walk-in wine cellar which can double as a private dining room.
Mu, the beach bar and grill, is located on the beach and again is open for dinner. With a range of cocktails, as well as seafood and grilled meats, it gives guests the chance to dine beneath the stars in a relaxed atmosphere.
Samsara is Jumeirah Vittaveli's all-day dining option and is architecturally unique, serving both Maldivian and International cuisines.
In-villa dining is also available.
Bar-ee, open from mid-morning until midnight, serves fresh juices, cocktails and light snacks. Located over the water, it is the ideal place for a sundowner.
The Talise Spa offers a wide range of treatments, from short experiences taking in exfoliations and massages to five-day awakenings for the whole family, as well as body treatments and facials. Jumeirah Vittaveli is located in the South Malé Atoll in the Maldives.
When to go
The Maldives has a tropical climate distinguished by two seasons, or monsoons: the dry northeast monsoon from December to March, and the wet southwestern monsoon from May to November, with more strong winds and rain. April is a transitional period noted for clear water and heat. The temperature remains remarkably consistent at around 30°C.
February to April is the hottest period and resorts are almost all operating at capacity during this period. Mid-December to early January comes at even more of a premium due to Christmas and New Year and prices are even higher. Easter and the Italian vacation week in August also attract peak prices at most resorts.
Storms are more likely from May to November, though it’s still warm, skies can be cloudy and the humidity is higher. This is the low season, with fewer people and lower prices, with the exception of August.
Diving is good year-round, although a basic rule is that life on the reef is more varied and visibility better on the western side of any atoll from May to November and from the eastern side of any atoll December to April.
The surfing season runs from March to October, which is when resorts are cheapest.
