Built in 1854 as the Imperial Hotel, the Vivanta by Taj - Connemara is the only heritage hotel near Chennai. Here you can enjoy the beach location on the outskirts of the city and the proximity to Chennai for exploring and Mahaballipuram to visit the nearby temples including the famous Shore Temple.
The rooms are spacious and furnished to a high standard with views overlooking the garden and swimming pool. When to go
The climate in southern India shows only slight seasonal variations unlike northern India. Temperatures and humidity remain relatively high all year round in Tamil Nadu, but the best time to usually visit is from November until March. Please note that rainfall is common at any time of the year but the monsoon season has only marginally more precipitation than at any other time.
