Located on Cape Lamu, a beautiful tropical peninsula on Phuket’s east coast, perched over Phang Nga Bay, Point Yamu provides a quirky retreat. It's unique designs and artifacts dotted around the property make for a fascinating stay. Each item has a story to tell and a reason for being there.

All 79 rooms and suites and 27 private luxury villas take design inspiration from the cool blues and turquoises of the Andaman Sea, framed with floor to ceiling windows. Nearly every room benefits from a private terrace with mesmerising views across Phang Nga Bay or over the Cape, while the larger pool suites and private villas boast individual private swimming pools.
There are a number of dining options at Point Yamu, including delicately crafted Italian cuisine, heady and fragrant Thai dishes or for those looking to maximize energy and wellbeing a selection of healthy and utterly delicious COMO Shambhala menus. For those wanting to further their pampering body and mind, the spa offers holistic treatments alongside a yoga studio, steam rooms, Jacuzzi and fully equipped gym.
Although there is no beach at Point Yamu, the panoramic views from the resort make you feel like you are on a ship and more than make up for the lack of beach. Being away from the beach also means that it is much quieter than other areas of Phuket. However, the resort do provide a boat shuttle to a beach on a nearby island which is approximately 15-minutes away.
The accommodation ranges from the beautiful smaller one bedroom pool villas to larger four bedroom pool villas; these are all full of natural light flooding in from views over the Andaman Sea or the Cape’s lush green surroundings. The Suites all boast beautiful terraces and verandas, separate living areas and plenty of space to luxuriantly lounge in the sun.

Children are welcomed at this family friendly resort, with a dedicated kid’s play zone, lots of educational and exciting activities to keep little ones entertained and babysitting on request. The two and three bedroom villas are ideal for families as they feel like a private home and offer plenty of space. There are also many rooms and suites which interconnect. Child size bathrobes and slipper, highchairs and cots are all available.
La Sirena serves incredibly fresh and light Italian dishes throughout the day including homemade cereals, wood-fired Italian cuisines with pizza and seafood and a delicious selection of pastas, salads, raw and cooked seafood and antipasto platters. Located at the poolside, La Sirena provides exquisite views over Phang Nga Bay.
Alternatively, the Thai restaurant Nahmyaa, takes inspiration from the fragrant and heady spices of Thai street food cooking. Mouth-watering bites include fish cakes and sates, noodle soups, curries and stir-fried dishes. During the evening, dishes with multiple flavor levels and combinations are on are best in show using a wide array of the freshest seafood including whole grilled fish, river prawns and crabs.
On top of these, the Lobby Lounge and Aqua Bar provide the perfect spots to enjoy a lazy afternoon smoothie or expertly crafted cocktail. For those looking to pamper their bodies with healthy living, the Como Shambhala cuisine provides utterly delicious menus using organic ingredients rich in vitamins and minerals.
To pamper body and mind further the spa offers holistic treatments to improve physical and spiritual balance. Alongside this there is a yoga studio, steam rooms, Jacuzzi and gym.
A large array of land and sea based activities can be easily arranged at Point Yamu including tennis, golf, Thai Boxing, Rock Climbing, kayaking sailing, fishing and scuba diving. For a spot of culture, head to the markets or take in some of the local architecture or eat at some local restaurants. Old Phuket Town offers a walk back to history with its snaking streets and funny little boutiques. Elephant trekking is another option, a fun way to explore the countryside - although be warned not the most comfortable!
Or alternatively you can just stay at Point Yamu to enjoy the extensive facilities on site. The spa offers a comprehensive list of treatments as well as a Jacuzzi, sauna and relaxation area. The pool and its comfortable lounge furniture is an ideal way to pass the afternoon away with a good book and the odd refreshing lap around the pool. Point Yamu is located on a secluded east coast peninsula of Phuket overlooking Phang Nga Bay.
When to go
Tropical climate and the driest months to visit are December to March. November and April are also good months to visit and you may get some rain, although it is outside of the monsoon season. May to October is the monsoon with downpours occurring once or twice a day, rather than constant rain.
