Koh Samui has a tropical climate and the best time to visit is from February to September, which is relatively dry but there is some rain every month. February to April are the driest months. October to January are wet with the monsoon coming from the northeast across the Gulf of Thailand.
One of the most exclusive resorts in Koh Samui, the Four Seasons comprises beautiful pool villas and an array of facilities for couples and families alike, offering a peaceful and luxurious hillside retreat on Thailand's Gulf of Siam.
Hidden in a quiet bay on the north west of Koh Samui, the Four Seasons is one of the most luxurious hotels on the island. Built around the coconut groves, the resort is an exclusive and peaceful retreat offering the extensive facilities and phenomenal service typical of the Four Seasons group.
The villas at the Four Seasons are cleverly built into the hillside and offer unparalleled views of the ocean and the secluded beach below and, for the ultimate luxury, some are just steps away from the sand. Each villa is lavishly appointed, has chic alfresco living spaces and is accompanied by its own private infinity pool with astonishing views out over the bay. The incredible in room technology, ample indoor and outdoor living space and impeccable in-villa dining facilities mean that you may chose not to leave your villa at all.
Dine on Thai specialties at Koh's hillside terrace, cooled by the gentle sea breezes or have freshly caught seafood on the beach at Pla Pla. Elsewhere, Cocorum is the only rum bar on the island, with a tropical and laid-back atmosphere. With inviting lounge beds and idyllic views, the 50m long pool makes for the perfect place to unwind with a cocktail or even enjoy a shoulder massage in the shade of the palms.
For more in depth spa treatments, the Four Season's Spa offers a genuine immersion into the authentic peace of Samui - chose from a multitude of pampering options enjoyed in serene Thai salas, complete with outdoor bathtubs and steam rooms. A yoga pavilion is also available for guests' use and a complimentary morning yoga session is a wonderful way to greet the day.
Activities abound for both children and adults, with swimming, tennis, water sports and boat trips as well as a fantastic children's club with a range of fun activities to make any adult jealous.
Whilst none of the beaches in Thailand are private, the secluded location of the Four Seasons ensures that the beach is unlikely to be accessed by non-hotel guests. There is also an adult-only section, making this a good hotel option for both couples and families.
The Four Seasons Koh Samui has 60 luxury villas in various locations, all with private pools, wooden sun decks and contemporary southern Thai decor featuring teak, rosewood and rich silks. There are also 10 One-to Five-Bedroom Residence Villas for larger parties and these have indoor and outdoor living areas, expansive decks with pools and a live in housekeeper. Amenities in all room types include CD/DVD players, iPod docking stations, wireless internet access, tea and coffee facilities and iron and ironing board.
Children are warmly welcomed at The Four Seasons Koh Samui where there is a complimentary children’s club (4-12 years) featuring age specific games and activities. They also provide children's amenities in the room, children's menus and equipment such as high chairs, cots etc. and babysitting is available on request. Mini massages are complimentary!
The Four Seasons Koh Samui has two fabulous restaurants. Koh serves delicious Thai food and also Thai wine which is to be recommended. Pla Pla, found on the beach offers fresh seafood during the day and imaginative Mediterranean food on the evening. Finally Cocorum Bar is a relaxed space with day beds by the impressive 50m long infinity pool. In-villa dining can also be arranged for those who want some more privacy. Elsewhere, there is a library, two tennis courts, fully equipped gym, kid’s club and a tropical indulgent spa.
The Four Seasons Koh Samui provides cooking classes, beach volleyball, boxercise, snorkeling excursions, trimaran sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and Thai massage classes. There is also a resort boat to hire for excursions and fishing trips, island tours, waterfall trips etc.

A true paradise on earth, this stunning sprawling property of private villas was designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley. Marvel at breathtaking ocean views from luxuriant villas nestled amongst verdant green jungle hills. Chill poolside with a selection from Asia's only rum library. Or book a yacht to go explore Angthong National Marine Park. The possibilities are as infinite as the private pools!

Like a lot of the resorts on Koh Samui, the Four Seasons is dramatically spread out across two hillsides. This does mean you need to get a buggy between the different areas, but the typically excellent Four Seasons staff won't make you wait for long! The elevated position also means some wonderful views.
The villas are wonderful; smart and elegant but with a lovely Thai influence. It's worth being aware that in some of the larger residences, the bedrooms are spread out so may not be ideal for those with very young children, but this makes them perfect for families with older children who want their privacy!
The beach and pool are also fantastic. They are right beside one another, which also means you don't have to choose between where to base yourself, which is very convenient.

A luxurious hotel, suitable and perfect for every age. The villas are chic and stylish and the pools are very lengthy. For those wanting to relax, the outdoor Sala areas are very inviting. This hotel has got undoubtedly some of the most beautiful views on the island. This is due to the steepest gradient it possesses; a buggy is advised to get from A to B. The staff will be outside your villa in seconds with a buggy to take you down to the beach, spa gym, yoga pavilion or boxing ring. You wont find a boring moment

Arrive at The Four Seasons, check into your Villa and make for the Sunset Bar for one of the best views over the bay to the smudges of islands in the distance. We had dinner on the beach at Pla Pla, marvelling at the blue lights in the palms, the waves lapping on a perfect beach and the stars shining in competition with the myriad of fishing boats out fishing for the delicious squid and fish we ate that night! I don't need to mention the most famous beds in the world and as I slipped into the arms of Morpheus all I could hear through my diaphanous mosquito netting was the sea.....

Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui definitely has the wow factor. When you arrive to check in and you are greeted with tremendous views of the sparkling azure sea across the bay, you know that this is just the beginning. The villas are the height of luxury, the beach (although man made) will never cease to disappoint, the breakfast buffet has got to be seen to be believed it is like walking into an upmarket deli. And of course, the staff is fabulous, so much so you forget all responsibilities, they are there to take care of everything and do so without your awareness, they are always one step ahead. Families are also very well looked after; the Family Villas are a practical accommodation option, although there are only 4 with just 2 on the beach so book early if you can! If your budget allows, a stay here cannot go wrong, as it has been consistently superb.

From start to finish the service at Four Seasons Samui was beyond incredible. On arrival we were greeted with not only the friendliness of smiles but also views that were so picture perfect they would make Mr Kodak himself stop and stare! From here it only got better. Of course with any Four Seasons property there will hardly be a hair out of place, but what really set this property apart (except from the views and service) was the food. Dinner was a dream but breakfast was heaven - I have never seen so many different types of pastry, yogurt, fruit and eggs - you name it they have it, all impeccably presented. If you said to me that I could only have one more breakfast ever, I would say, send me to Four Seasons Samui.

It is hard to fault this property, which offers a fantastic retreat on the buzzing island of Koh Samui. Situated on a peninsular north of the island, it has views of the ocean from both sides and is built on a hill to take full advantage of this. The family villas are one of the best options on the island for family vacations, but are popular so book up fast. The villas and residences are all beautifully designed, with stylish and chic nautical furnishings. The interiors are regularly updated, so the property always feels contemporary but with a homely feel. The service here is impeccable and it is a place where you could easily stay for a number of nights. As you relax on the stretch of white sandy beach, you will be offered daily afternoon treats, such as smoothies and ice-cream.

The location of the Four Seasons is pretty special and you could easily forget that you are on the developing island of Koh Samui, The hotel is in the north-west corner of the island, one of the more remote areas, and from the moment you enter the lobby, with its overwhelming views of the resort and out to sea, a pervading sense of calm takes over. Unlike so many hotels on this quirky island, where you can walk out to (or at least see) local shops and restaurants, the Four Seasons is a self-contained resort with the added bonus of its own private beach. This is not for guests who like to wander out of the hotel but for those looking for peace and calm, it is ideal.
