In the bustling and modern city of Bangkok, Ariyasom offers a slightly quirky, and very comfortable haven from which to explore.
The 24 rooms and suites are spread across two buildings. The original villa was built in the 1940s and the site opened as a hotel in 2008, aiming to maintain the classic style whilst providing modern facilities. All of the rooms are different, but each boasts Thai silk drapes, antique furniture and local artwork.
Ariyasom is located in downtown Bangkok, right beside one of the city's many canals. It is within easy reach of some of Bangkok's most interesting sites, including the Grand Palace, Wat Arun and the Jim Thompson House.
The hotel's restaurant, Na Aroon, focuses on healthy but delicious organic cuisine, with both Thai and Western options. It is predominantly vegetarian, but occasionally offers a few seafood and fish dishes.
For some time off from site-seeing, Ariyasom's spa has an open-sided sala for expert Thai massages, and there are also three private treatment rooms for oil massages, as well as a steam room. There is also a nice pool in the hotel gardens.
All of the rooms at Ariyasom are different, but all feature teak wood, Thai silk drapes, antique furniture and local artwork.
Some of the rooms are able to connect, and two of the Executive Deluxe Rooms have separate living rooms which can accommodate a sofa bed.
Children are welcome at Ariyasom, but there are no specific facilities for them.
Ariyasom has a swimming pool, traditional spa, library and restaurant, which serves vegetarian and seafood dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
There is so much to do in Bangkok, visitors will be spoiled for choice. Visit some of the city's most impressive temples, or why not take a boat ride along the famous Chao Phraya River and through the canals, where you can catch a glimpse of local life. There are plenty of markets to explore and Bangkok is a foodie's heaven with so many wonderful restaurants and street food.
