Description

Pangkor Laut Resort is a luxurious property, offering hillside and over-water villas, set amongst blissful natural surroundings on a private island off the West Coast of Malaysia. The resort boasts fantastic dining options and facilities.

Pangkor Laut Resort has 143 rooms, which are located in villas either nestled into the rainforest on the island's hillside, or perched on stilts over the bay's azure waters. The interior of the villas meld contemporary comfort with traditional design elements. All of the villas boast large bathrooms with over-sized bathtubs, and either a terrace or balcony with sunloungers.

There are some wonderful dining options to choose from. The cuisine on offer ranges across Asian flavors at the Feast Village, Uncle Lim's Kitchen and The Straits, international dishes and lighter options at the Royal Bay Beach Club and Jamu Bar, and delicious fresh seafood at the renowned Fisherman's Cove. There are also some fabulous destination dining locations.

The resort also has plenty of facilities to enjoy. There is an inviting swimming pool which overlooks the bay. The heavenly Spa Village also has its own pool, reserved for spa guests. The spa's pavilions have been specially designed to facilitate a huge range of treatments, including practices from India, Bali, Thailand and Malaysia. Accommodation

There are 143 rooms at Pangkor Laut Resort. The rooms are contemporary, but with traditional Malaysian design influences. All feature a terrace or balcony, complete with sunloungers. All of the villas have modern amenities including Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, a safe and mini-bar. The only villas which do not a TV are the Spa Villas.

Garden Villas and Hill Villas are on the hillside, surrounded by the lush rainforest. Garden Villas are closer to the main facilities, whereas Hill Villas are further away but offer more extensive views. Beach Villas are close to the shore (although it worth being aware that they are not actually on the seafront). Both the Sea Villas and Spa Villas sit on a stilted jetty over the water, as do the spacious Suria and Purnama Suites. The Pavarotti Suite, named for the famous tenor who once stayed and fell in love with the resort, is located high on the hillside, and has two bedrooms.

Childcare

Children are welcome at Pangkor Laut Resort, however there are no specific facilities for them. Whilst interconnecting rooms are available, they are subject to availability. Some of the restaurants also have age restrictions. Therefore the resort is probably more suitable for couples or families with teenage children.

Facilities

The resort has two swimming pools. There is a main pool which overlooks the bay, and the Spa Village has its own pool, only for use by spa guests. The resort also has a tennis court and fitness center. There are a number of restaurants to choose from, including fresh seafood at the Fisherman's Cove, and traditional Asian cuisine at Uncle Lim's Kitchen.

Whilst the resort is a located on a beach, should you wish to swim in the sea it is strongly recommended that you go to Emerald Bay, which is on the other side of island, and has a beach bar and sunloungers. The resort operates regular shuttle buses to this beach.

Activities

There is plenty to do during your stay at Pangkor Laut Resort. The resident naturalist offers daily guided walks through the island's wonderful rainforest. There are also fishing, island hopping and snorkeling trips. There are a number of watersports, including kayaking, waterskiing, wakeboarding, paddle boarding and catamaran sailing. The resort also offers complimentary daily Yoga and Tai Chi, and private classes are available for an extra cost.
