Description

The luxury COMO Uma Ubud is located on the periphery of Ubud, rooms are hidden away amidst paddy fields, carved out of hillsides and backed by coconut palms. It is a tranquil retreat yet just a short drive from the exciting cultural heart of Bali where you can visit art galleries or barter at local handicraft shops.

The narrow paths that wind between the rooms and suites and their tropical gardens give Uma Ubud an intimate local village feel yet beneath the alang-alang thatched roofs are stylish, contemporary villas, some with infinity edge pools and stunning Tjampuhan valley views. Highlights of the rooms include the chic uncluttered interiors, sleek black and white bathrooms and abundance of natural light. Suites have the addition of sitting rooms, dining rooms and the Pool Suites have a wonderful plunge pool with views over the jungle.

Meals center on local, fresh produce at the Uma Ubud's open air restaurant 'Kemiri'. Here Asian and Balinese dishes are served as well as healthy COMO Shambhala cuisine. At the cool Pool Bar you can kick back with a cocktail or you can chose to dine in the comfort and privacy of your own room.

COMO Uma Ubud has a strong focus on health and wellbeing and the COMO Shambhala Spa, well established in many of the COMO Group's properties, offers an excellent array of treatments and classes. The spa makes use of natural ingredients, with the therapies drawing on Bali's traditional medicine and ancient beauty rituals. A daily complimentary yoga session, reflexology area, steam rooms, gym and sauna as well as a fabulous 25 meter pool should help you soak up Bali's peaceful health-giving spirit. Active guests can enjoy the wonderful biking and hiking opportunities this region has to offer.

Location & Directions

Bali, Indonesia

Uma Ubud is located on Jalan Raya Sanggingan, on the fringe of the artists’ town of Ubud, a small town and Bali’s cultural hub, overlooking the Tjampuhan Valley and River Oos . The landscape comprises rolling rice paddies carved out of hillsides backed by the curve of coconut palms.

When to go

Bali’s climate is warm and humid, temperatures averaging between 21°C and 31°C. Short bursts of rain occur from November until April, making the velvet green landscape come alive. April to October is the dry season, although in hilly Ubud, you rarely feel too hot.

Festival periods can get busier. In Ubud, however, you never feel the crowds. This is the advantage Ubud has over the south coast area that can get packed to bursting around August, Christmas and New Year.
