Soaring 56 floors above Hong Kong's most prestigious shopping and cultural district, with breathtaking views of the Peak and Victoria Harbour, the Island Shangri-La is a superb base for a stay on this vibrant island.

The Island Shangri-La’s guest rooms start at the 34th floor offering unrivalled, breathtaking views across the harbour to Kowloon. The elaborate rooms and suites at this luxurious hotel are traditionally designed and are amongst the largest in Hong Kong. Some guest rooms also offer fantastic views of the Victoria Peak. Added luxuries include an LCD TV in the bathroom to watch while you soak in the indulgent deep tub and a 24-hour butler service.

The hotel is just a few minutes from the central area of Hong Kong Island and has direct access to Pacific Place, offering prestigious shopping. When back from exploring the city, there are many award winning restaurants at the hotel to sample, including Petrus, which has two Michelin stars and the one Michelin-starred Summer Palace Cantonese restaurant.

Accommodation

The Island Shangri-La's 531 Deluxe Rooms have either a Peak View or a Harbour View and are beautifully appointed with Asian influences. Rooms feature flat screen TVs, DVD players, 24-hour butler service and decadent marble bathrooms with LCD TVs. The 34 Suites range in size, views and layout but provide ample space and luxurious touches for the discerning traveller. On the 56th floor, the Horizon Club is traditionally for business users but anyone wanting a more personalised service and extended facilities can stay here.

Childcare

Children are welcome at The Island Shangri-La but there are no specific facilities except for babysitting. Children will enjoy the hotel's pool and all of the fun activities Hong Kong has to offer including its very own Disneyland.

Health facilities include a gym, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, yoga, massage and beauty treatments and sauna and steam rooms. There is a 28 metre outdoor swimming pool with a waterside terrace restaurant and other dining choices include the Lobster Bar & Grill, Petrus and the casual Cafe TOO with open kitchens from around the World, to name a few.

How to get there

12-hour international flight to Hong Kong International Airport. Island Shangri La is a 45-minute drive from the airport.

When to go

Hong Kong has a tropical climate and can be visited year round. October to April are the driest months although December to February are cooler. May to September is hot and humid with the most rainfall during these months.
