What the Shangri-La lacks in character and charm it makes up for in location and views. It is a good, comfortable, international-standard of hotel with all the services of a 5* property. Within walking distance of downtown Yangon and right on the doorstep of Scott's Market, this is the property to go for if you like to explore independently.

This is definitely the best option for rooms with a view of the city. With around 22 floors and 484 rooms it definitely feels more corporate than some of the more boutique properties. While this is definitely a typical city hotel in terms of size, the location is excellent for wandering out and exploring the city. It also has a fantastic outdoor pool area (newly renovated), which is a brilliant retreat after a day of site seeing. Opt for an option on the higher floors, as you are there to enjoy the views of Yangon.
