To start planning your vacation to Riverside @ Hsipaw Resort
Hsipaw has long been regarded as one of the best places to head off trekking in Burma, and the Riverside provides the perfect base to return to after a day walk.
The rooms are fairly large at 40sqm and all feature river views. They are divided into ten thatched duplex bungalows, each containing two rooms and all with lovely sit-outs from which to watch the world go by. All rooms have air-conditioning, mosquito nets and ensuite bathrooms with showers (no bathtubs). They are designed well, blending exposed brick with classic local furniture.
The Riverside @ Hsipaw Resort has a central restaurant featuring a range of cuisine, a bar and a well-maintained garden. The real reason to come to Hsipaw is to get out and about by day, and we can arrange a variety of day treks of differing lengths and exertion to showcase what this very off-the-beaten track destination has to offer. We can also arrange for boat trips on the Dokthawady should you so wish.
Location & Directions
Hsipaw is located in the north of Shan State on the old Burma Road which connected Yunnan in China with Mandalay.
When to go
The best time to visit Burma is during the dry season from November to April. At this time the warm and sunny days are ideal for sightseeing throughout the country. The temperatures start to rise in March, and May to September is best avoided as this is the rainy season when sightseeing can become difficult.
