Bagan Lodge opened in 2013 and was very much part of a new breed of hotels which are opening up in Burma offering a little more comfort and style than the limited selection of places to rest your head which preceded it. The villas then are dotted around the spacious grounds, all topped with a canvas roof tent. The villas are spacious, with huge bathrooms to the rear and delightful sit-outs to the front. Many of the villas interconnect. You can expect a wide range of handy mod-cons such as TVs, rainforest showers, mini bar and even hair dryers which is something you don’t find all too often with Burmese hotels!
The main restaurant is called The Tiffin Box, producing authentic Myanmar cuisine and Western options. The Pool Bar serves up cool beers, refreshing cocktails or fresh fruit juices, with snacks available to order. You can also enjoy an afternoon coffee or pre-dinner beverage at the Lobby Lounge Bar. There is also a spa at Bagan Lodge, with 8 treatments rooms.

When to go
The best time to visit Burma is during the dry season from November to April. At this time the warm and sunny days are ideal for sightseeing throughout the country. The temperatures start to rise in March, and May to September is best avoided as this is the rainy season when sightseeing can become difficult.
