Part of the socially responsible and ecologically minded Peruvian organization, Inkaterra, Hacienda Urubamba is set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop, surrounded by wild flowers and trees and is the perfect place for mental and physical rejuvenation. Popular with outdoor lovers, this is a great place for eco-friendly activities such as trekking, horseback riding, rafting and mountain biking.

With a variety of excursions on offer in the Valley and its surroundings, this is a perfect retreat for families. Discover ancient Andean traditions on the ecological Farm tour, take a trail walk at twilight while learning about the importance of astronomy in the Andean world, take an educational tour learning about the medicinal uses of plants, and sample indigenous food and drinks.

Designed in contemporary Peruvian style and inspired by local Cusco architecture, the hotel was made using locally sourced materials fitting well into its surroundings. All rooms are furnished in modern Peruvian style and are spacious and comfortable, some with private terraces or panoramic mountain views.

The dining room at the hotel serves both local and international food, using organic ingredients harvested at Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba. For a healthy and nutritious meal, there is also a special "Wellness" menu for those keen for a more restorative culinary experience. The bar and wine cave provide a variety of beverages to complement your meal and there is a cocktail hour daily by the outdoor bonfire, a great way to end the day.

There is no specific childcare at Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba however children are welcome and a child's explorer kit can be requested.

Picnics and packed lunch can be arranged, and an A la carte menu is offered for dinner in the restaurant and on the terrace. There is also a lounge bar in the hotel with a large selection of macerated piscos, wine cellar, and cocktail hour. Guests can also indulge in wine tasting, coca leaf reading, kite flying, payment to the earth ceremony and eat at the chef's table. Guests can also request therapies in their rooms.

Activities

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is home to some of the best Inca sites, and is a great place to start your visit to Cusco. Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba is located in the Town Centre of Huayoccari, Huayllabamba district, in the province of Urubamba.

It can be found at km 62 of the Cusco-Urubamba-Pisac-Calca Highway.

When to go

The Sacred Valley's location and altitude result in two seasons, rainy and dry. The rainy season typically lasts from November to March, with the heaviest rains arriving in January and February. The best time to visit Cuzco and the Sacred Valley is during April to October.
