Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

There's never a bad time to visit the Galapagos. The peak season lasts from mid-June through early September and from mid-December through mid-January. The national park limits the number of visitors to each island and coordinates each ship's itinerary, so the Galapagos will never feel like Disney World. But if you visit in the summer, you are less likely to feel a sense of solitude and isolation.

From December through to May the water and the air are warmer, but this is the rainy season. It drizzles almost daily for a short period of time. Ironically, this is also the sunniest time of year.

June through November, the Humboldt Current makes it way up to the Galápagos from the southern end of South America. The current brings cold water and cold weather, but it also brings water rich in nutrients and plankton, which attracts fish and birds. During this season there always seem to be clouds in the air, but it rarely rains. It's also quite windy, and the seas tend to be rougher.

Explore the magical Galapagos Islands from on board the luxurious M/Y Passion, a spacious ship which offers an exclusive cruising experience. Travel the eastern or western islands for an in-depth Galapagos experience and observe amazing endemic wildlife.

The M/Y Passion started life as a private family yacht before being refurbished to cater for tourists, meaning that it still boasts plenty of communal lounge space and many of the original features. Accommodating just 14 passengers, the Passion is perfect for private charter cruising in the Galapagos Islands, or those looking for a more intimate experience. A staff to guest ratio of almost 1:1 ensures attentive and personalised service.

The M/Y Passion has been designed to be stable in the water, which makes it a good choice for sufferers of sea sickness who would prefer to be on a smaller vessel. Staterooms and suites are all spacious, all with air conditioning and private marble bathrooms.

Choose to explore either the western islands or the eastern islands of the enchanting Galapagos archipelago and encounter a variety of fascinating endemic wildlife species, from hammerhead sharks and sea turtles to blue-footed boobies, penguins and frigate birds. Kayaks are available at guests' disposal to explore the waters independently or as part of a group, while excursions include snorkelling, on-shore hiking, kayaking and panga rides to observe wildlife close up.
