Set at 1,325 meters up in the Andes, Puma Lodge is one of the best-kept secrets in the Chilean Andes, and exclusive guest-only access opens up incredible opportunities to ski or snowboard through untracked powder, past glaciers and backcountry bowls, surrounded by the stunning high peaks of the Andes. Discover pristine nature with excellent snow quality, awe-inspiring peaks, and deep valleys.
The lodge itself is wood-built and encloses minimalist spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows, brightened by volcanic stone and hand-woven blankets and rugs. An inner courtyard features an ancient cypress, and there are various corners and terraces that provide the locations for a bar, lounge, library, open fireplace, and games room. The 24 spacious guest rooms are well lit and calm, and offer spectacular views of the Andes, the river or the cypress forests. Large fireplaces, comfortable couches and the warmth of wood invite you to relax whatever the season.
In winter, the helicopter will transport you to the best ski zones based on snow conditions, weather, capacity, and the technical level of the skiers/snowboarders. Expert guides carefully select the day’s ski area to ensure you have the best heli-ski experience possible, descending expansive, long chutes through virgin snow. Descents are an average of 1,200m, with the greatest vertical run being approximately 3,200m and the longest being approximately 16km.
In summer, there is mountain biking, fly-fishing, rock climbing, and hiking through cypress forests to look for condors, guanacos or even the endangered burrowing parrot. A full-service spa and wood-fired hot tubs under the stars provide relief for aching muscles, and the cuisine is superb.
24 spacious rooms (all 40 sq m) with luxury linens, an isolation system that ensures peace and quiet, King or Twin beds, depending on the season and type of room, Wi Fi connection throughout the hotel, 32-inch flatscreen TVs (available to guests by request) and a radio system with iPhone and MP3 connection
Puma Lodge has a Living room, games room, dining room, ski shop with exclusive brands, El Catador tasting room (with a cellar featuring the finest international and domestic wines), spa, gym, two saunas, two steam baths, a massage room, two outdoor Jacuzzis, gym, and a heated pool.
Heli-skiing and heli-boarding in winter; mountain biking, rock climbing, trekking, fishing, horse riding, heli-hiking, cookery, archery and yoga in summer.
