Nestled on the shore of Lake General Carrera, Mallin Colorado has undoubtedly one of the most beautiful settings in Chile and indeed in all of Latin America. The lodge is run by the Christensen family whose hospitality and personal touch make it so special. The private log cabins are rustic, comfortable and elegantly furnished, with floor to ceiling windows providing spectacular views of the lake and park. The food is delicious home cooked fare, with fresh produce grown in the lodge's own garden.
Horse riding, hiking and boating are just some of the activities on offer and days are spent exploring, before curling up by the open fire back at the lodge.
Mallín Colorado sleeps a maximum of 18 guests, in four individual log cabins, decorated in a cosy rustic style with picture windows giving simply stunning views of the lake and park. The Coihue cabin has one bedroom and one bathroom and the Raulí cabin has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, whilst the Ñire and Ciprés cabins each have three bedrooms and three bathrooms. All cabins have a Jacuzzi, wood burning stove and living or living-dining area with sofa and tables and chairs.
Children receive a warm welcome at Mallín Colorado and the very hospitable owner-hosts do their utmost to ensure families have as comfortable and enjoyable a stay as possible. Children are able to join in many of the activities on offer and the larger cabins provide excellent accommodation for families.
The owner of the lodge prepares delicious homecooked and traditional meals, cooked over a wood fire, using plenty of fresh produce from the lodge's garden and local meats from the region.
Activities are included during all stays at Mallín Colorado and are lead by expert bilingual guides. There are many activities and excursions on offer, including horse riding, trekking and boat and road trips to areas of outstanding natural beauty, home to a variety of native wildlife and spectacular lakes and glaciers.

Mallin Colorado hosts its clients in cabins built of native wood, with excellent views of Lake General Carrera. Each cabin is isolated and provides a private and peaceful environment that is harmonious with the local landscape. They are rustic, comfortable, and elegantly furnished cabins, surrounded by a park of native tree. They have hard wood floors, beds with natural down comforters, box spring mattresses, wood stoves, and ample windows with views of the immense Lake.
They offer excellent food. You sit down at table with the owners and converse with them over dinner. They prepare homemade and traditional dishes with fresh vegetables from their garden and healthy meats of the region. The food is cooked over a wood fire in clay pots, with lots of love and care. A very nice place to stay.
