Set within acres of wilderness, lined with a carpet of forest, mountains and beautiful lakeside scenery, Uman Lodge offers a spectacular away-from-it-all experience, inviting relaxation and adventure in equal measure. Chile's Lake District is a patchwork of glassy lakes, zig-zagging rivers and forested mountains, making it easy to find thrills; Kayak or raft along white-water rapids, hike jagged peaks or softer valley sides, mount your horse and explore at your chosen pace or opt for high-octane adrenaline as you descend the hills by mountain bike. The choice is yours and the friendly staff will help you to find the perfect adventures. Keen fishermen will enjoy the areas fantastic fly-fishing opportunities, with rainbow trout and salmon frequenting the waters of the Futaleufu River, the Ram River and Lake Yelcho. Birds and deer are often commonly sighted in the area and the staff at Uman Lodge can point in the direction of the best spots to observe the local wildlife.
All of the rooms at Uman Lodge are suite style, measuring at least 50sqm and offering a separate bedroom and living space, as well as an outdoor terrace. Each comes equipped with a TV with pay per view options, air-conditioning, heating, safes and WiFi. There is also a larger suite which measures 82sqm and has a Jacuzzi and Nespresso coffee machine as well as the above amenities. From here, enjoy magnificent mountain and valley views.
The restaurant and bar offers a menu of Patagonian delicacies which are created using international cooking techniques. Wild meats, organic vegetables and natural fruits that are locally sourced are used in each dish and there is a fantastic selection of wines available to pair with your meals, whilst the bar serves up a delicious selection of cocktails including the famous Pisco Sour.
Uman Lodge also boasts a spa where guests can enjoy a selection of relaxing treatments to unwind after adventures out on the lakes and in the surrounding valley, two pools, a hot tub and a sauna.
Uman Lodge is perfectly placed to enjoy some serious outdoor adventures. The nearby Futaleufu river is perfect for white water rafting and kayaking or less intense river floats, where half or full day adventures can be arranged. The river is also home to rainbow trout and locked salmon making it a popular fly-fishing spot. The valleys and mountains which surround are ideal for trekking, horse riding and mountain biking for the adventurous. A range of circuits are offered to suit varied confidence levels and to take in the best of the Patagonian scenery. BBQs or picnics can be arranged in remote spots to make the most of Uman's isolated location and the staff can also assist guests with birdwatching and point out the best spots to observe the area's resident deer.

When to go
The main season in Chile's lake District runs from November to April - the Chilean spring/summer, when all activities are possible. It's also worth visiting in autumn, when it's still very beautiful for simply relaxing and hiking. The area is prone to rain all year but is wettest in July and driest between January and March.
