The ski season in the United States is longer than that in Europe. Most resorts open sometime in November, with Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday in that month) being a common opening time, and stay open until mid to late April. The Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Wyoming have the highest peaks and due to the semi-arid climate, have abundant snowfall with some great powder. The exceptionally high altitude means December through to February can be extremely cold, with temperatures sometimes reaching as low as -12C, although the skiing conditions remain very good. Warmer temperatures in the Spring mean more variable skiing conditions and softer, forgiving snow.

Hidden away in the Aspen trees in a convenient ski in and out location, Trappers is a perfect place to start or finish your day. Don't worry if you're a non-skier - it even comes with it's own Snowcat! Trappers is a real treat for your family and friends for a special occasion, with the option of having your own private chef on hand to cater for all of your needs. I was lucky enough to visit for a refreshing Mimosa during the day and was disappointed not to be staying as I could imagine star-gazing from the hot tub would be such a delight. With all the mod cons on hand - even the children would love it up here with a pool table, great sound system and snow shoes to venture out in the hunt for nocturnal wildlife. This is simply a cabin that you don't want to leave!
Amazing cuisine, well-chosen wines, impeccable service, and unique transportation options to the restaurant have made Beano’s Cabin a favorite destination for years.
