Tivoli Lodge began as one of Vail’s first great European-style lodges in the 1960s, and has been recently completely refurbished into a boutique luxury hotel that has still retained hits old-world charm, suffused with tradition, ambiance and hospitality. Typical American hospitality comes with the turf here, as the Lazier family who set up the Tivoli Lodge some 40 years ago, live in the hotel. A homely feel is complemented by great service and the hotel is a popular choice for couples and families alike. And being only a few steps from the Vista Bahn lift, this is a good choice from which to base your Vail ski vacation.
The style of the hotel is new-European and the architecture blends perfectly into the surrounding natural environment, with unobstructed views of Vail's Golden Peak ski area. The luxurious and spacious lobby offers stunning mountain views has a lodge-style feel with oversized chairs, leather sofas, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and small wine bar. Guests will find complimentary coffee and tea service in the morning and an afternoon reception of homemade cookies, hot chocolate and cider.
The Tivoli’s Brown Hound Lounge is a great place to go for a relaxing cocktail, micro-brew, or premium glass of wine this season. Try its signature "Indini" cocktail – inspired by former hotel mascot Indy, the chocolate Labrador after whom the lounge is named. The Tivoli Lodge serves a full hot buffet breakfast each morning which changes daily. Guests are treated to the full American breakfast experience from all the old favorites to new traditions - from warm cinnamon rolls to applewood smoked bacon and chocolate chip pancakes.
Being based in the heart of Vail Village, guests have immediate access to all the restaurants, bars and shops of the resort.
All of the hotel rooms are equipped with the finest linens and offer large soaking tubs and walk-in showers with body spray jets feature in many of the rooms. Rooms come with a choice of a king size bed, or two queens, and are furnished and decorated in a blend of traditional and contemporary style. Views are of the mountains or the resort. All have flat screen TVs and DVDs, and many of them have fireplaces and mini-fridges.

When to go
The ski season in the United States is longer than that in Europe. Most resorts open sometime in November, with Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday in that month) being a common opening time, and stay open until mid to late April. The Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Wyoming have the highest peaks and due to the semi-arid climate, have abundant snowfall with some great powder. The exceptionally high altitude means December through to February can be extremely cold, with temperatures sometimes reaching as low as -12C, although the skiing conditions remain very good. Warmer temperatures in the Spring mean more variable skiing conditions and softer, forgiving snow.
