Description

The Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa is an atmospheric, 4* rated, family orientated hotel with an excellent ski in / ski out location at the base of Beaver Creek Mountain, offering direct access to the village, ice rink, restaurants and boutiques. A gondola is just steps from the ski valet, adjacent to the children's ski school. Built in the traditional, North American chateau style, it enjoys a premium location in the village. Beaver Creek Mountain itself, boasts 146 runs and has access to Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead Ski resorts.

There are 190 stylishly furnished rooms and suites, with lots of interconnecting possibilities for those with families, and the restaurants cater for all ages and tastes. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and extremely helpful, making sure you have a truly great skiing vacation - from ensuring warmed and dried ski boots await you each morning to providing fresh cookies at the end of each fun-filled day.

The hotel has a good selection of restaurants and bars. The 8100 Mountainside Bar & Grill is a venue specializing in local, natural and organic dishes featuring Colorado’s best microbrews, wines and spirits. The Cafe deli offers gourmet meats and cheeses, fresh fruits and salads and picnics-to-go. At the end of each day, guests can enjoy complimentary S'mores Happy Hour held from 4-5 pm at the fire pit. Powder 8, located at the base of the Centennial Lift, is idea for breakfast or lunch, or an après ski cocktail listening to live music. And 8100 Mountainside Grill and Bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed, informal atmosphere, featuring an outdoor terrace enjoying spectacular views. The Antler Hall is a relaxing place to sit round the fire for a drink and entertainment in this favorite Beaver Creek spot.

Children are beautifully catered for here. With the hotel's location right next to the children's gondola, to the concierge helping with boots and skis each morning and instructors coming direct to the door, nothing could be easier. Nearby there is a Nordic center, snowmobiling and dog sledding.

The Park Hyatt has an extensive variety of room types, with facilities including 24-hour room service, video on demand, concierge during regular hours, connecting rooms and balconies by request (based on availability), flatscreen 37" LCD TV, Cable/satellite TV channels, robes, wireless high-speed internet access, refrigerators, signature spa amenities, individual heat control, in-room safe, Keurig coffee maker and cot on request.

Standard View Double

The Standard View Double room at Park Hyatt measures approximately 400 square feet and overlooks the porte cochere featuring a beautifully landscaped fountain entrance to this luxurious retreat. The majority of these rooms have the ability to connect to a King guest room.

Village Slope King

The Village Slope King measures approximately 400 square feet and the majority of these rooms have the ability to connect to a double guest room. Village view rooms overlook the heart of Beaver Creek Resort including the year-round ice rink and ski area views of Strawberry Park. Many consider this view at night time as the most romantic view in the resort. Some rooms have the ability to connect to a room with double beds on request.

Slopeside View King

The Slopeside View King measures approximately 400 square feet and the majority of these rooms have the ability to connect to a double guest room. The most requested view category, Slopeside, overlooks the ski slopes at the base of Beaver Creek, North America’s World Cup Mountain. Views also include other popular on-site locations such as the fire pit featuring daily smorgasbord, the heated outdoor pool and five hot tubs. Whether covered in deep snow or lush green, this is a spectacular view during every season.

Village Slope Double

The Village Slope Double measures approximately 400 square feet and the majority of these rooms have the ability to connect to a king guest room. Village slope view rooms overlook the heart of Beaver Creek Resort including ski area views of Strawberry Park, the year-round ice rink, boutique shops, art galleries and restaurants. Many consider this view at nighttime as the most romantic view in the resort. Many rooms have the ability to connect to a room with a king bed upon request.

Slopeside Double

The Slopeside Double measures approximately 400 square feet and the majority of these rooms have the ability to connect to a king guest room. The most requested view category, Slopeside, overlooks the ski slopes at the base of Beaver Creek, North America’s World Cup Mountain. Views also include other popular on-site locations such as the fire pit featuring daily smorgasbord, the heated outdoor pool and five hot tubs. Whether covered in deep snow or lush green, this is a spectacular view during every season.

Park Fireside Suite

A total of 16 Park Fireside Suites are available. Although their configuration changes with location, their approximate size of these Beaver Creek accommodations is 600 square feet. All have a King size bed fitted with soft linens and down duvet piled atop a plush pillow top mattress, flat screen LCD TVs and a seating area offering a Queen sofa sleeper next to a gas fireplace. The Park Fireside Suites have varying views, most with balconies and the ability to connect to a Double / Double guest room.

Highlands Suite

Entertain lavishly in an 1,100 square foot suite offering a highlands view, which overlooks the aspen groves on the North side of the valley. Many consider this cosy accommodation the quietest, most intimate suite in house. Pampering touches in these gracious Beaver Creek accommodations include a LCD flat screen TV, kitchenette, a parlour seating area offering a queen sofa sleeper and full bath. Decorated in lighter, softer tones, the Highlands Suite offers a parlour with the ability to connect to an available Double bedroom.

Rial Oxford Suite

The only one of its kind to be found in the Vail Valley, the Rial Oxford is located on the third floor of the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, offers a 500 square foot balcony and slope side view that overlooks the ski slopes at the base of Beaver Creek, North America’s World Cup Mountain. Views also include other popular on-site locations such as the fire pit featuring daily smorgasbord, our heated outdoor pool and five hot tubs. The 1,760 square foot suite features European-inspired furniture finished in warm, rustic textures and finishes including hand scraped wooden floors. Pampering touches in these gracious Beaver Creek Colorado accommodations include a fireplace, LCD flat screen TV, kitchenette, accommodations for eight around a grand dining table, seating area offering a queen sofa sleeper next to a gas fireplace and half bathroom. The Rial Oxford Suite has the ability to connect to an available Double and/or King bedroom.

Childcare

The Park Hyatt is an ideal place for families. "Camp Hyatt" has been set up to look after children from 3 to 12 years old, with certified nannies and age appropriate activities. Ski instructors come to the hotel to pick up children for their lessons and the hotel's concierge helps with putting on boots and sorting out their skis. The hotel is right next to the children's gondola. Day care can be booked for half or full days, to include lunch, and children are encouraged to take part in lots of outdoor activities.

The restaurants have children's menus and everywhere is open early if children want to eat earlier. Babysitting can also be arranged. There are many interconnecting rooms and suites for families. And if you're traveling with small babies, the hotel is fully equipped with everyone you should need, from organic baby food to nappies and baby monitors. Just tell us what you'd like, and we'll order it all in advance for you.

The hotel offers a wide range of services and facilities. The Allegria Spa should be visited at least once during your stay, with its tempting list of relaxing treatments. The hotel also has a dedicated ski concierge who'll have your dried and warmed boots ready for you each morning.

When to go

The ski season in the United States is longer than that in Europe. Most resorts open sometime in November, with Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday in that month) being a common opening time, and stay open until mid to late April. The Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Wyoming have the highest peaks and due to the semi-arid climate, have abundant snowfall with some great powder. The exceptionally high altitude means December through to February can be extremely cold, with temperatures sometimes reaching as low as -12C, although the skiing conditions remain very good. Warmer temperatures in the Spring mean more variable skiing conditions and softer, forgiving snow.
