Impeccable styling and world-class facilities await guests at Langham Place Fifth Avenue. From the moment that you step into the lobby to the moment you leave, you are cocooned in tranquillity and luxury. Add to this an enviable location on Fifth Avenue with easy access to many of the city's top attractions, and you have quite possibly the finest hotel in the city.

157 guest rooms and suites make up the accommodations, which are spacious (extremely so by New York standards) with cool, minimalist decor and Asian nuances. In-room facilities are as you would expect for such a world-class hotel, and there are even TVs embedded into mirrors in the fabulous marble bathrooms, if you fancy a little channel-hopping while having a soak.

Each guest is assigned a personal PA to help you make the most of this ever-moving city, from the reservations at the hottest new restaurants in the Village to opera tickets at the Met, but if you prefer to eat in, the hotel's signature Mediterranean-inspired Michelin starred restaurant Ai Fiori, presided over by Executive Chef Michael White, was voted the 2011 best hotel restaurant in New York. Measure on Fifth Avenue has rapidly become a fixture among the city's elite, with an atmosphere of laid back sophistication and great mixologists.

Langham Place also has an incredible full service Langham Place spa, with hammam, plunge pool and individualised treatments arranged according to the phases of the moon, perfect for some serious body and soul pampering after the exhilarating but exhausting streets of the city.

110 Rooms and 104 Suites. All rooms have king beds and are finished to extremely high standards (Italian walnut, Duxiana beds, state-of-the-art controls, personal espresso machine) and are in soft cream and beige colours. Standard rooms are large by NYC standards (40 sq m); Superiors (45 sq m) have views of midtown Manhattan while Deluxe and Premium rooms offer more space (49 sq m and 70 sq m respectively). Studio Suite Kings (85 sq m) have a living room (not separate) while the Avenue Apartment Suites are enormous and have a separate living area and are 110 sq m. Maximum three occupancy per room (strictly applied – NB standard room have a maximum of two) and only king beds, but rollaways can be provided. Complimentary mini-bar. Bathrooms are enormous and seriously high-tech, beautifully finished in marble with a huge tub and rainforest shower, TVs in mirrors (not superior rooms), and Lorenzo Villoresi toiletries.

Langham Place Fifth Avenue is not really ideal for children, but rollaway beds are possible. Rooms do not interconnect. Children (18 years and under) stay free when accompanied by an adult in the same room.

Ai Fiori (head chef Michael White) is a NY Times award-winning restaurant (surprisingly affordable) with high-end Mediterranean cuisine, along with an impressive wine list and bar offering a cocktail menu developed by a world-renowned mixologist. The Langham Place spa (on a whole floor) has four signature treatments that reflect the varying energies of the lunar cycle, inc 11 treatment rooms, wet rooms, experiential showers, a vitality pool, sauna, steam room, hammam and ice room. There is also a Julien Farel beauty salon and fitness centre.

Being in the very cultural centre of New York opens up a multitude of possibilities in terms of activities. The famous Metropolitan Museum of Art is just down the road and with one of the most famous shopping streets in the world on your door step it might be an idea to bring an extra suitcase!

Tours of the city can be arranged through your PA, and once you've experienced the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, why not relax back at the hotel either at the Spa or in the comfort of your own room before braving the city once more for an evening of adventure and culture with offerings such as the famous Metropolitan Opera or the old meatpacking district full of cool bars and public events.

Langham Place Fifth Avenue offers guests the usual complimentary WiFi, and beautifully decorated meeting rooms. However it also offers some more special services including a 24 Hour Personal Assistant for each guest, multilingual staff, express Check In and Check Out as well as a fantastic packing and unpacking service allowing you to make the most of your holiday from start to finish.

When to travel

Summer or winter, rain or shine, there's always great stuff going on in New York, so when you're planning a trip, there's no real "best" or "worst" time to go. Weather wise fall and spring are the best times in New York. From April to June and September to November, temperatures are mild and pleasant, and the light is beautiful. Summers can be hot and humid while winter snowfalls are not uncommon.

September to December is conference season in New York, and we would advise booking early for travel during this period.
