I recommend trying the five dish mini taster menu at Jimmy's tavern, a mix of Greek and American food, this is not to be missed. My favorite was the Halloumi dishCharlotte Austin
The best dish on the whole of the Jimmy's Tavern menu is the Wagyu beef New York strip, which is cooked to perfection and although you can probably get beef this good a lot of places, I have never tasted it!Charlotte Austin

Since it opened in December 2013, The Landing has, in our opinion, propelled itself into pole position as the leading hotel in Heavenly and blazed the trail for other luxury hotels to follow suit. With its perfect and rather romantic lakeside setting on the southern shores of Lake Tahoe, we feel that The Landing is best suited to couples and would also make a wonderful honeymoon destination.
The resort consists of an 88-room boutique luxury hotel, restaurant, spa and conference center which seamlessly manages to blend into the natural beauty of its lakeside surroundings. The atmosphere at The Landing is sophisticated and intimate, with an emphasis on providing a polished service to its guests.
The gondola up to ski slopes at Heavenly is just three blocks away and the attentive bell staff will whizz you to and from the lift in no time. The gondola ride up to the slopes is approximately 20 minutes and brings you out at the base of the mountain to start your ski day.
The fact that the Stateline is just yards away means that you have the added bonus of being able to enjoy both California and Nevada, particularly if you fancy a flutter in one of the larger casinos. However, The Landing is located far enough away that it benefits from a peaceful location.
Dining at Jimmy's the on-site restaurant is an experience in itself - the dishes are Californian with a Greek twist, reflecting the Chef's Greek background. The bar staff are locals are more than happy to give advice and tips on where to ski and what cocktail to have.
The contemporary American-style rooms offer fantastic views on to the lake and all feature a private deck. The vast marble-clad bathrooms have heated floors, waterfall showers - even the loo seats are heated!

Jimmy's Restaurant is the onsite dining option, serving a fusion of wood-fired Greek tapas style food and locally sourced Californian cuisine. If you fancy a cozy evening à deux - snuggle up in one of the private dining alcoves - each with its own fireplace. Alternatively, cozy up in front of one of the five additional fire pits on the patio or rooftop deck overlooking the lake, with one of the rather eclectic cocktails from the bar which have to be tried.
Full-service spa with sauna, steam room and hair salon
Wonderful glass-enclosed wine cellar featuring 250 labels from around the world
Complimentary ski valet, ski storage and boot warmers
State-of-the-art fitness center with steam showers
With its incredible location perched high above the beautiful sapphire blue waters of Lake Tahoe, Heavenly is certainly up there with best when it comes to snowsports destinations. When it comes to skiing at Heavenly you are spoiled for choice with heaps of terrain variety, hidden glades and immaculate groomers - possibly more than any Lake Tahoe resort. The decision making is endless - do you ski California or Nevada? Do you want jaw-dropping views of sparkling Lake Tahoe, or the stark contrast of the high Nevada desert below? Will it be 34 miles of wide-open, groomed cruisers, 1,600-foot plunges in the double-black canyons or the most outrageous tree skiing in North America? Is it the 80-foot jumps in Highroller Terrain Park, or the natural pillow drops in Nevada Woods? How about 1,800 vertical feet of knee-pounding, Volkswagen-sized moguls on the world famous Gunbarrel? The choices are yours – and you’ll have a blast choosing.
