The Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World offers a peaceful base for exploring everything the area has to offer, from the Magic Kingdom to the Epcot Center. The resort is situated on the side of the lake, amongst beautiful gardens, with extensive facilities.
Families are superbly well catered for here, with Explorer Island featuring a family pool, lazy river, splash zone and water slide, as well as beach volleyball, outdoor table tennis and a complimentary kids' club.
For parents in need of a bit of relaxation while the children are being entertained, there is an adults-only pool, world class spa, and a championship golf course.
There are 443 guest rooms here, including 68 suite, with modern, stylish interiors designed with cool creams and blues. Every room includes plasma TV, with DVD players on request, an iPod docking station, safe, telephone, internet connection and hair dryer.
The Four Seasons Resort has four restaurants serving a range of cuisines, from tapas and steak to Italian food. The Lickety-Split is a lively bar overlooking the lake and there is a coffee bar where you can grab a morning latte. 24-hour in-room dining is also available.
The resort offers 448 guest rooms including 68 suites, all featuring contemporary, light and airy decor and thoughtful touches for a relaxing stay from the lounge chairs on your terrace or balcony through to tranquil mosaic style marble bathrooms.
All guest rooms are over a generous 500 square foot in size, the only difference being the views. The Four Seasons Rooms do not offer views, the Golden Oak Rooms have residential views and the Lake View Rooms have views across the lake and golf course. Park View Rooms are the most sought after as they offer views over to the Magic Kingdom's nightly firework display.
The suites offer beautiful accommodations with a separate lounge and bedroom. They also feature two bathrooms and large balconies, perfect for a family oasis. They offer the same view structure as the rooms.
For the ultimate luxury, opt for the Presidential or Grand Suite on the top floors of the hotel. Extend the suites to three, four or more bedrooms for the most luxurious and spacious accommodations, with the best views.
All rooms and suites feature decadent amenities including flat screen TV and DVD player, iPod docks, thick terry bathrobes, down pillows, complimentary standard internet, minibar, twice daily housekeeping and 24 hour in room dining.
Walt Disney World is made for children and the Four Seasons Orlando is wonderfully family friendly with a warm welcome for younger guests. Interconnecting rooms and suites are perfect for families. Child size bathrobes, complimentary baby and children's bathroom amenities and babysitting are all available.
Explorer Island has been specially designed with kids in mind and includes a family pool, splash zone, lazy river and water slide, perfect to cool off in after a day in the parks. The Kids For All Seasons program is also located on the island. The club is for children aged 5-12 years and trained staff arrange activities and entertainments for younger guests.
The Mansion is a great family hangout spot with table tennis, pool tables, bocce ball, a fireplace and observation deck for the nightly Disney firework display.

When to go
Florida is a year-round destination with balmy winters, but summers can be hot and humid. The best time to visit Florida is in March and April when it is warm and sunny, before the weather begins to get too hot. Hurricanes and other less serious tropical storms can strike Florida any time in the summer up to the end of November, however the risk is greatest between August and October.
