San Francisco is a year-round destination but has a cool maritime climate. In the summer, the city’s famous fog rolls in mornings and evenings, creating a misty chill in the air. Spring sees the end of the rainy season, and the city’s pretty-in-pink cherry blossom trees dot the landscape. In Fall Indian Summer comes to San Francisco, bringing warm, dry days with plenty of sunshine. The very best time of year is August to October when temperatures are at their highest and days are often sunny.

The Ritz Carlton is the perfect choice for a luxury and stylish city stay! It is in a great location for exploring the city by foot or for hopping onto one of the iconic San Francisco Trams. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby too.

Brilliant location where you can take the historic trams down to Fisherman's Wharf or walk to virtually everything. And old heritage building full of charm but with all the modern and contemporary touches of a Ritz Carlton with great facilities and inter-connecting rooms for families.

Newly renovated, the Ritz Carlton is the smartest luxury hotel on the block in the upscale neighborhood of Nobb Hill. Nobb Hill is a great location for San Francisco, step outside and it feels so "San Francisco" with the cable cars chugging by and the Bay glistening down in the distance. There is no bad room at the Ritz, all have a neutral blue and cream finish with sumptuous beds. The hotel has lots of connecting rooms for families and some beautiful suites. The Club Level is also well worth splashing out on if you plan to spend some downtime in the hotel with breakfasts, all day snacks and bar for guests to help themselves too.
The restaurant is superb and breakfast is a treat - don't miss the mascarpone stuffed French toast for breakfast or for something savory the delicious Mexican breakfast tostada. Fresh juices are made by Santa Monica's favorite juice company Pressed.
The only downside is the hotel has a very modest spa, so if spa is your priority this hotel probably isn't for you. While the hotel doesn't offer rooms with a view to the Bay, as it is located in the old bank building and some of the rooms have lovely views over historic buildings or have quiet residential overviews. Each room feels much like a sanctuary in the city.
For a first time visitor to San Francisco, the hotel is ideally located for catching the cable cars around the city and exploring - the concierge is excellent. Or simply walk in 10 minutes down to Union Square for incredible shopping from Nike to Saks. Then return to The Lounge for afternoon tea or later, some well deserved cocktails - I recommend the Sazerac with Templeton Rye!

Hire a bike and cycle over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge from Fisherman's Wharf to charming Sausalito, perched on the hillside between the Bay and the Marin Headlands, or for the really energetic keep pedalling to Tiburon for lunch at Sam's!
