The award winning Ojai Valley Inn & Spa is an extensive resort style hotel that is ideal for families, couples, golfers and spa lovers. Guest rooms and hotel amenities are located at different elevations throughout the hotel grounds, each offering a unique view over the perfectly manicured grounds which are framed by a stunning backdrop of the southern Californian Mountains.
Guests regularly end up returning to Ojai year after year, most notably due to the outstanding service; the staff are friendly and attentive and always prepared to go above and beyond to ensure an extra special stay. Adding to its appeal, Ojai has plenty of charm and character as the old buildings have recently undergone a significant refurbishment but still retain original features.
There is plenty for guests to do during a stay, both at the resort and nearby. Relax by one of the four pools, play tennis, enjoy a round of golf, indulge in some pampering spa sessions or explore further afield with some guidance and advice from the friendly concierge. The nearest beach is about a 20-minute drive away and the resort can also help to organize ocean adventures from deep-sea fishing to paddle boarding and even group volleyball games on the sand.
The 308 guest rooms and suites are well-appointed with fabulous views, spread over the 220-acre grounds. The original Inn at the top of the hill boasts far reaching views, whilst the more modern rooms can be found spread along a steep hill overlooking the golf course. The décor of the rooms has been inspired by the Spanish colonial era and many of them have fireplaces, private balconies or patios with views of the surrounding mountains or golf course.
A short 15-20 minute walk from the resort leads to the quaint downtown area of Ojai and an abundance of fantastic restaurants. But you need not travel into town to find a delicious meal; there are seven restaurants and bars on site to include Olivella, Oak Grill and Jimmy’s Pub which all offer delicious food and wine served by attentive staff.
There are 308 rooms in total at the resort, 67 of which are suites and 3 of which are penthouses; all were renovated in March 2013 and enjoy courtyard, garden, golf course or mountain views.
Ojai Room is the starting room category at the resort at 425 square-feet, ranging up to the Hacienda Penthouse at 1,900 square-feet. Interconnecting rooms, rollaway and sofa beds are available, which provide a great choice for families. The fireplace rooms (145 in total) feature a gas-burning fire place, perfect for the cooler evenings.

Casa Elar is a beautiful private estate located within the grounds of Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. The house can sleep up to 10 people and has five bedrooms, with two Master Suites boasting their own private balconies and fireplaces. Facilities include private pool and Spa with terrace, BBQ, stone pizza oven, extensive kitchen, massage room, library with built-in bar and entertainment system. The house is fully serviced and staffed.
Camp Oak is the on-site kids' club, with daily outdoor adventures such as biking, basketball, fishing, arts and crafts and many more! There are daily sessions for children aged 5 to 12 and a Saturday morning session for younger children aged 3 to 4. The are a total of seven dining and drinking options at Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, providing a real mix of experiences. Voted as one of the Top 25 North American Spa's by Conde Nast Traveler, Spa Ojai offers a full range of treatments, relaxation therapies and even fitness regimes.
There are four swimming pools at the resort, three of which are adult only, including the Lap pool which is ideal for fitness. The main family pool is equipped with toys and games are run daily, there is also a baby pool only 1.5 feet deep. Dive-in movies are shown every Friday and Saturday night with complimentary popcorn!
Ojai Valley Inn & Spa is home to an 18-hole golf course with a beautiful mountain backdrop, built by George C Thomas. Jr. The course plays 6,292 yards with a par 70, rating of 71.0 and a slope of 132. Golf packages are available. The resort also has a multi-court Tennis Center, with four lit courts, perfect for those looking to improve their technique through individual instruction, or families having fun.
Olivella serves up a mouth-watering menu of Italian-inspired cuisine, utilising fresh California ingredients and traditional Italian techniques to create modern interpretations of classic dishes.

Newly restored and well revered, Wallace Neff boasts an extensive wine collection which can be enjoyed in a timeless setting, regularly frequented by the famous and important figures throughout history.
The Oak offers a daily breakfast, lunch and dinner menu with brunch buffets offered at the weekend to allow time for a well-deserved lie-in. Locally sourced produce features throughout the menu and a number of ingredients come straight from the resort's herb garden. Guests can enjoy al fresco dining under a vine covered pergola overlooking sweeping mountains, the golf course and surrounded by 200-year old oak trees.
Boasting a casual and lively atmosphere, Jimmy's Pub is the place to go to enjoy an evening tipple. Choose from an extensive selection of wines, award-winning cocktails and microbrews on tap. A classic pub menu is also served.
The Spa Cafe offers a menu of light breakfasts and lunches with a focus on wellness. Healthy meals and light snacks can be enjoyed either indoors or out in the courtyard and fresh juices and coffees are also served.

Enjoy lunch poolside amongst vine-covered pergolas and surrounded by citrus trees. Kids can enjoy delicious fresh-fruit smoothies whilst cocktails are available for Mum and Dad and a selection of light lunches are served.
Other than golf and tennis, there are a wide range of activities at Valley Inn & Spa to keep the whole family busy. For those looking to get in touch with their creative side, the Artist Cottage have a range of art and apothecary lessons available. A day at the beach is well equipped with paddle boards, snorkel gear and boats available to charter. Fitness classes are offered daily free of charge for all guests over 16, and a full timetable is available with classes such as yoga, water aerobics, boot camp, Pilates and many more. Personal trainer sessions are available at an extra charge.
Daily bike rentals are available at the resort and are an excellent way to get around Ojai. For the adventurous there is a 14-mile bike ride to the beach.

Ojaj Valley Inn & Spa is ideally located just 60 miles North of Los Angeles and 12 miles from the ocean. Santa Barbara is a 35-minute drive away.
When to go
The coastal climate is always an enjoyable surprise to the first-time visitor. This is particularly true during the winter months – roughly from October through March.
There is a comfortable year-round average temperature of 64 degrees, with an average maximum of 74 and an average minimum of 56 degrees. Visitors to the region should expect sunshine all year round but the warmest months without morning fog and with higher temperatures (July through October) are often the best months.
