Description

On the edge of the Alaskan wilderness, Windsong Lodge is a peaceful retreat tucked away amongst towering spruce trees. Just minutes from the magical Kenai Fjords National Park, guests are well placed for discovering the raw beauty of southern Alaska.

Located outside the small and quirky city of Seward, Windsong Lodge offers guests a wonderful respite from the great outdoors. Sitting on the windy road that leads to the staggering Exit Glacier, the lodge places guests on the edge of Kenai Fjords National Park, where wildlife is abundant and landscapes are wild and beautiful.

During the day, you can head out on a cruise along the Kenai Fjords. For six hours, you'll have expert naturalist guides on board to teach you all about the incredible scenery that surrounds you as well as its inhabitants. You'll see as much as possible, with excellent photograph opportunities of the Alaskan coastal rainforests, remote and uninhabited islands as well as tidewater glaciers. Fun and family friendly, this is one our favorite tours in southeast Alaska.

On another day, you can jump aboard a Resurrection Bay tour, a more wildlife focused excursion that stops at the exclusive Fox Island for lunch. You'll also have time to stroll through the shops of Seward before heading home. When you're not cruising along the fjords by boat, perhaps you could consider a day kayaking around Fox Island, where friendly staff will cook a delicious lunch of wild Alaskan salmon and prime rib to give you a true taste of authentic Alaska.

Guests will also enjoy visiting the incredible Exit Glacier and experiencing a ranger-led walk across the valley. This is the only part of Kenai Fjords National Park accessible by road, making it a hotspot for tourists, so we recommend getting here as early as possible, which is helped with a stay at Windsong Lodge.
