Walking on to spacious deck and being greeted with the delightful view is enough to make the most stressed guest begin to the lake. Sink in to one of the comfortable chairs and simply sit and breathe in the fresh clear air and listen to the gentle lapping of the lake waters on the shore. The warm feel of the lodge envelopes it's guests on arrival, from a welcoming lounge and dining room through to cosy bedrooms.
Part of the inn experience is the food. Chef Carson and his team serve up gourmet cuisine with menus changing daily and featuring locally grown organic vegetables, meats and Arctic Char complemented with a selection of Yukon Beers and Canadian Wines. Sit in the dining room and gaze out at the lake or at night watch for signs of the Northern Lights through the panoramic windows.
The Inn on the Lake is open in summer and winter and offers some great experiences for either season. From biking around or canoeing on the lake in summer to dog sledding and snowmobiling adventures in the winter. Or simply sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity in the hot tub.
Families are particularly well accommodated here as the inn offers a two-bedroom suite as well as a separate apartment which includes a full kitchen and even a hot tub. This ensures families can stay together and keep their independence whilst still having the lodge on hand for great meals and activity planning.
The Inn on the Lake is one of the most comfortable accommodations in this area so ideal for guests who enjoy comfort and wish to be close to the city, which is only around 40 minutes away.
The Inn features four guest rooms, three suites and the Fireweed Cottage.
Each room accommodates two people and offers en-suite facilities, plush bath robes, complimentary toiletries and daily housekeeping.
In addition, the Jacuzzi Suite offers a Jacuzzi tub for two and a balcony with an ideal aspect for Aurora viewing. The Kodiak suite is a full one bedroom apartment with kitchen and living room, right on the water. The Presidential Suite offers two bedroom, living room and kitchenette and is right on the lake front.
The Fireweed Cottage is ideal for families as it accommodates up to 7 people. It is directly on the lake front with two stories, a full kitchen, TV and a balcony with hot tub and gas barbecue.
Families are welcome at the Inn on the Lake with the Fireweed Cottage and Presidential Suite being ideal to accommodate them all together. There are no specific facilities for children though and no babysitting available.
The inn is perfect for an outdoor vacation. There is a comfortable lounge and library area with lake views and an extensive deck with seating and views also over the lake. A spacious dining room with panoramic windows is perfect for social meals. Guests normally dine all together and enjoy sumptuous gourmet meals freshly prepared by chef each day, utilising local ingredients where possible. A licensed bar service is available.
The inn can offer mountain bikes, kayaks, canoes , paddle boats and cruisers to guests for a charge and guests staying a minimum 2 nights at the inn enjoy complimentary golf passes to Meadow Lakes Golf and Country Club.
There is a small fitness room and an outdoor sauna and hot tub, perfect for soaking in after a long days outdoor activity.
WiFi is available in the main lodge for a small charge
The Inn offers both autumn (Fall) and winter packages. The Fall is ideal for Aurora viewing and the inn offers 4x4 tours of the surrounding area.
In Winter there is a wealth of winter activities on offer including snowmobiling, ice fishing, dog sledding from local kennels and snow shoeing. All winter clothing can be provided
Location & Directions
Inn on the Lake is located on the banks of Marsh Lake, 35 minutes drive South of Whitehorse.
When to go
Yukon is accessible year round, however, it has extreme temperatures and experiences differentials depending on the time of year. The summer season is from mid June until early September when the days are often warm and sunny with plenty of daylight. Dalton Trail Lodge is normally open from late May until late September although this is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
