There's nothing like the freedom of the open road spilling forth before you. Yukon is the perfect "road trip" territory with thousands of miles of roads stretching from Whitehorse out as far as Alaska and beyond with exciting roads such as the "Top of the World" Highway and the famous "Dempster Highway" which stretches all the way in to the Arctic Circle and beyond, to explore.
A motorhome vacation in Yukon can be an exciting and unforgettable adventure. With motorhomes that sleep up to a family of 5 comfortably, the whole family can enjoy the thrill of this stunning part of Canada together.
The motorhome experience allows you to stop where you want and when you want. There are government and private camp sites throughout the territory so you can plan your route to suit your needs. Government sites offer the simplest of amenities such as fire pits, picnic tables and drop toilets, whereas the private camp grounds (normally in the more populated areas) will often offer more luxurious amenities such as showers and electrical hook ups. The further afield you travel, the more basic the camp sites and so it is important to be fully independent and happy to live a camping life style for several days.
The Yukon is beautiful, however, it is absolutely a wilderness destination with grocery stores, gas stations and the smallest communities often being 100 of miles apart. Guests wishing to take on a motorhome adventure here will need to be happy to be self sufficient and able to cope with being away from "civilization" for possibly days at a time, especially when traveling on the Dempster Highway. Dirt roads and pot holed roads are common and therefore, confident driving skills are also required.
What awaits you though is stunning scenery, big skies and the kind of open space and total quiet rarely experienced during our busy lives. Think of a day with only a handful of other cars seen on the road or perhaps just one or two other travelers to say a brief "hello" to. Just you, the open road and the beauty of the Yukon...
We are happy to construct a full day by day itinerary for your Yukon adventure if required. Please ask for more information.
