When to go
Vancouver's climate is the mildest in Canada, averaging 20°C in summer and 2°C in winter. But you don't hear much about that accolade. Instead you hear about the rain. Bucket loads of it fall, especially in winter (January, February and March). In the mountains, a mere 20 minutes away, this translates into snow for excellent skiing. TThe average seasonal snowfall at 1600m (5000 feet) is a spectacular 25 meters (75 feet), four or five times the average in most areas of the Alps. July through September are the best bets for sunshine
