Rooms and suites are well-appointed and cosy, many enjoying views towards the dramatic Alberta mountains. (We definitely recommend opting for one with mountain views to make the most of the property's stunning location!) All of the rooms are comfortably furnished and come with cable television and coffee/tea making facilities. Interconnecting rooms are available and rollaway beds can be accommodated in a number of rooms and suites.
Banff is all about the outdoors experience, and with plenty to offer all year round, whether you choose to visit in winter or summer you will be guaranteed a memorable stay. Families will love the endless activities which include snowshoeing and dog-sledding throughout snowy winters and rafting, horse-riding and cycling in the warmer summers. There is also a kids club for ages 6-13 which provides plenty of entertainment and a varied activity program. Those in need of relaxation are far from neglected with the Fairmont's award-winning Willow Stream Spa; enjoy a soak in the mineral pools or a soothing treatment from the extensive menu. There are 764 Rooms and Suites at Fairmont Banff Springs, spread between the main building, the Stanley Thompson wing and the castle. Views range from the hotel grounds to the mountains and valleys of surrounding Banff National Park. All rooms come equipped with tes/coffee making facilities, cable TV with in-room pay movies and hairdryers, while many also come with air conditioning. Additional beds can be added and interconnecting rooms are available.
Fairmont Gold Rooms occupy the 4th and 5th floors and offer a separate reception, lounge and loads of extra services to make your stay that little bit more special. All come with air conditioning and Bose sound systems on top of the standard room amenities.
Fairmont Banff Springs is assuredly family-friendly, with options to add cribs, play pens and roll-away beds on request as well as interconnecting room options. Babysitting is available with advance notice and there is a Kids' Club for young guests too. A range of activities are offered to kids such as rafting tours and the Banff Gondola, along with horse riding, bowling and fishing.
Dining options include a children's menu and discounted meals; Kids under 5 dine for free off the children's menu whilst ages 6-11 can eat for half price off the regular menu.
There are extensive dining options at Fairmont Banff Springs serving up a range of cuisines from Canadian to Japanese, Italian and Alpine. In room dining, afternoon tea and weekend brunch can also be enjoyed and for the evenings there is a good selection of bars and lounges too.
Fairmont Banff Springs is also home to a pampering Willow Stream Spa which has won numerous awards and is the perfect way to soothe aching muscles. Spa facilities include a fitness center, treatment whirlpools, indoor mineral pool, saunas, steam rooms and a fireplace resting lounge as well as 16 massage treatment rooms and a salon.
There is also a swimming pool and a golf course, designed by Stanley Thompson, which benefits from the stunning location within the park.
Activities vary greatly in Banff from the Winter to the Summer months, but year round there is a great focus on the outdoors and it is a wonderful destination for guests who enjoy a more active vacation. In summer there is a large number of hiking trails to be enjoyed along with horseback riding, mountain biking and helicopter tours. We also recommend taking the Banff Gondola for fantastic views, just 5 minutes from the hotel.
In winter try snowshoeing, canyon ice walks, dog sledding and ice fishing as well as more traditional skiing. The resort also has its own Bowling & Entertainment Center offering a range of games and entertainment facilities for ages 3 and up.

When to go
Banff is best enjoyed through the summer months when temperatures generally remain in the twenties and humidity is low. This is the ideal time to visit for hiking, biking, climbing and rafting while the ski season runs from November to May. Weather in this region is changeable so layers are highly recommended whatever time of year you visit.
