Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The tourist season runs from December to April. Nicaragua has a topical climate with two seasons, the dry season (December-April) and rainy (May-November). Though the temperature is fairly consistent throughout the year, the rainy season can see torrential downpours.

In nearly all Nicaragua, April and May are the hottest, driest months. December and January are the coolest months and easily comprise the most refreshing and greenest time to visit Nicaragua. September and October are Hurricane Season in the Caribbean and the rainiest months in Nicaragua.

Morgan's Rock is an upscale beach resort in Nicaragua, set in a beautiful 4,000 acre nature reserve on the Pacific Coast. This charming eco lodge sits immersed in swathes of wild jungle and overlooks a secluded mile-long beach and rugged Pacific scenery.

Set within a spectacular 4,000 acre nature reserve on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, Morgan's Rock is a beautifully designed eco-lodge, which offers guests rustic yet luxurious accommodation in its 18 comfortable bungalows. Watch dramatic sunsets from the privacy of your own bungalow, many of which offer fabulous ocean views, as well as inviting in the sound of crashing waves on the rugged beach below.

The mile-long sandy beach in front of Morgan's Rock is home to nesting sea turtles year-round, while the nature reserve that forms the backdrop to the property is frequented by a variety of monkey species, reptiles and an array of tropical birdlife.

There is an outdoor pool and a restaurant area, great for relaxing, as well as direct access to the beach where you can relax or enjoy a range of activities. On site, guests at Morgan’s Rock can enjoy horseback riding excursions, kayaking, fishing and surfing, whilst off-site there are options to enjoy guided hikes and nature trails through to forest to discover the local wildlife, as well as canopy tours and rappelling.

There are 18 individual bungalows at Morgan's Rock, most of which enjoy ocean views and their own private plunge pool. Decor is rustic-chic and very tastefully finished. For total comfort and fitting in with the resort's eco-friendly vibe, a clever air-conditioning system keeps you a comfortable temperature in bed without wasting energy and cooling down the entire room - additional fans are also provided. Three of the forest view bungalows with plunge pools have two bedrooms, making them ideal for families.

Children are welcomed but there are no specific facilities. The two-bedroom bungalows are ideally suited to families but we recommend Morgan's Rock more for those with older children.

Facilities at Morgan's Rock include a swimming pool, spa, yoga platform and restaurant.

Activities on offer at Morgan's Rock include horse riding along surrounding trails or on the beach, nature walks through the rainforest reserve, hiking, surfing, fishing, monkey safaris, turtle observation, canopy tours, rappelling and visits to nearby towns and volcanoes.

  • Masaya volcano & crafts market

Peer down into the crater of active Masaya volcano, an awesome sight, before experiencing the arts and crafts of Nicaragua at a local market, and finish with beautiful views into the crater lake of Apoyo.
