Imanta is a truly unique property, with an amazing hillside setting at Higuera Blanca on the Pacific Coast, overlooking the ocean and surrounded by jungle.
With just 13 rooms and 2 villas guests are ensured of an intimate atmosphere with a highly personalized service. The suites, which have ocean, mountain or jungle views, are incredibly spacious and are designed in an elegant, contemporary style with special features including ceiling high native wood mirrors and outdoor showers.
The two three bedroom villas are amazing, with their own private pools, spacious terraces and ample living and dining areas guests.
Guests are Imanta can enjoy a whole host of activities including canoeing, fishing, diving, snorkeling, sailing and hiking, as well as visits to the hippy chic town of Sayulita. In season whale watching boat excursions can be arranged and lucky guests may get to see whales from the hotel.
On site there is also a great rustic-style spa that is totally open air, two restaurants serving delicious cuisine including some fantastic seafood specialties and signature cocktails, and a high up bar with plunge pool and day beds - definitely the best place from which to enjoy the incredible sunsets.
The Imanta Resort offers a range of spacious suites housed in the main building that all enjoy spectacular views of the mountain jungle reserve and ocean. Each suite is comprised of a beautifully decorated bedroom and luxurious bathroom.
As well as stunning suites, this resort offers a range of fabulous private jungle and oceanfront casitas, each maintaining the high standard of luxury expected with the added bonus of a spacious, private terrace and individual infinity pool.
Larger private accommodation is available in the shape of their Casona los Templos and Casona Jaguar, 3-bed villas. Each have their own, generous pool and enjoy stunning views of the ocean and nearby jungle.
Housed in the main building of the resort and near the restaurant, these exclusive suites enjoy the most majestic views to the jungle and ocean. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the luxuriously appointed bathroom and rest in the beautifully styled bedroom. Each suite is furnished with a large sofa, a desk, dining table, double vanities and come with a large, walk-in closet.
When you walk into the bedroom and sit on your luxurious bed, you will enjoy stunning views across your private terrace and infinity pool to jungle and ocean. You can also choose to relax and unwind in the spacious tub while taking in the sunset from your terrace.
Each Ocean Casa maintains the standard of luxury to be expected and is furnished with a sofa, desk, dining table, double vanities and large closets.
Enjoying magnificent views of jungle and partial views of the ocean, each Jungle Casa comes with a luxurious bathroom tub, private terrace and infinity pool. Lay on the king-size day bed on your terrace and take in the majestic jungle surroundings.

Situated closest to the oceanfront but still enjoying commanding views of the nearby jungle and gardens, each spacious Oceanfront Suite comes with a large, private terrace furnished with a double day bed and enjoys views over your private infinity pool. The exclusive design of each casa creates a truly sensual atmosphere with all the amenities you would expect for a resort of this stature.

This extremely spacious, three-bed villa consists of two master bedrooms, each with its own Jacuzzi and staircase leading to the villa's private, large swimming pool. There is also a third bedroom, luxurious bathroom, a separate living area with kitchen, dining and living room with a maximum occupancy of 6 making it perfect for an older family or group of friends.
This three-bedroom villa has two master bedrooms each with a king-size bed, a third bedroom perfect for children or a nanny. Relax in the spectacular, rooftop Jacuzzi and enjoy the best possible views this resort has to offer. When you walk into the living room, you will be taken aback by the double-height ceilings giving this already spacious accommodation an even more open feeling. After a swim from your private beach, enjoy sunbathing in your terrace or plunge in your infinity pool.
Children aged 12 and over are welcome at Imanta although there are no specific facilities.
Imanta is set on its own beach (there are a total of 7 beaches on the property), terrace swimming pool, library and fully equipped gym. There is an on-site open air spa and wellness center offering a range of treatments and therapies and two great restaurants serving culinary creations from the freshest, locally sourced produce available. You may also enjoy the use of a private chef who will prepare delicious meals in your kitchen. Signature cocktails, beers and fine wines may also be enjoyed in the on-site bars.
Tours and activities can be arranged through the Guest Experience Managers and include hiking, kayaking, water sports and more. Tennis courts and a swimming pool are also available in the resort. Whales can be viewed from the beach from December through April but special tours can be arranged for an even closer look.

Located on in the Northern end of the Banderas Bay, the Imanta Resort Punta de Mita enjoys spectacular views across the mountains and beautiful beaches.
When to go
The rainy summer season lasts from June to October, when it can be very hot and humid. The best month to visit is November, when the surrounding countryside is verdant after the summer rains. January and February is whale-watching season. Come between November and March to see nesting and hatching turtles, from December to March if you want to watch dolphins and whales, or in April to spot giant manta rays.
