To start planning your vacation to Hotelito Desconocido
Hotelito Desconocido has 28 rooms and suites in thatched palafitos, reminiscent of a Mexican fishing village. Each room is uniquely designed, cleverly incorporating Mexican art and local furnishings into every detail. The style is very eclectic, and mixes found objects such as bicycles and guitars with a barefoot luxury minimalism.
The atmosphere is very peaceful and a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life. At night the resort is lit entirely by candlelight. There are also two superb restaurants, and much of the food served in the restaurant is organic and home-grown. If you wish, cookery classes may be taken with the hotel chef.
The resort is surrounded by over 60 km of white sandy beaches, a lagoon, crystal clear waterways, gardens, palm trees and fruit trees. In this magical setting, declared a UNESCO a reserve for birds, you can happily while away your hours spotting pelicans, herons and frigate birds, or head down to the beach to see turtle eggs hatching.
Activities range from the more energetic such as horseback riding, biking, windsurfing, kayaking and catamaran sailing to the more contemplative such as yoga-meditation, or fishing from a boat, the beach or the lake. There is a relaxing open-air spa and pool area, and the spa offers thalassotherapy treatments, bubble beds, geysers, a temazcal sweat lodge, waterfalls, therapeutic massages and facials.
There are 28 palafitos and rooms, which are all uniquely designed, and which differ mainly in their location, being lagoon view, lagoon and ocean view, or beachfront.
Children are welcome to come and stay at Hoteito Desconocido. However, there are no facilities available for them at the hotel except for babysitting which can be arranged upon request.
