Belize's climate is marked by two distinct seasons, the rainy season (June to November) and the dry season (December to May). The coldest month is January and the warmest temperatures are in May.
The busier time of the year for travelers to Belize is November to May, which are the winter months of the Northern Hemisphere. It is possible to visit out-side of these months but the rainy season in the Forest Highlands can be rather wet.

Ka'ana is a luxurious and polished hotel in a Belizean forest reserve, offering exclusive adventures, romantic accommodation and indulgent spa and wellness facilities. Service is attentive and personalized, so a stay can be fully tailored to each guest.
Deep within the western forests of Belize, Ka'ana is a boutique hotel which offers a polished alternative to the other jungle lodges of the Montain Pine Ridge forest reserve. It is ideally suited to couples who prefer not to sacrifice any creature comforts, and wish to enjoy a little privacy and indulgence. The staff at Ka'ana are attentive, and every guest will have a briefing on arrival to discuss potential activities and ways to spend their stay, ensuring that every trip can be totally personalized.
The hotel itself has just 17 suites and villas and this adds to the overall exclusive and intimate atmosphere. Each of the villas and suites is finished with modern clean lines, neutral decor and colorful Belizean textiles to highlight. For those who want complete privacy, there are a selection of one and two-bedroom private pool villas available, with private gardens that boast outdoor showers, plunge pools and a small terrace area for lounging in the sun.
Facilities include the La Ceiba restaurant which serves up produce from Ka'ana's own organic garden, the Wallace Bar which is a great spot for cocktails, a shared swimming pool, a yoga deck and a relaxing spa, all hidden within the lush tropical gardens.
There are just 17 suites and villas at Ka'ana, all of which are modern in design with a neutral color theme and bright splashes where handcrafted Belizean textiles feature. All rooms have AC, iPod docks, flat-screen TV, minibar, complimentary WiFi and safes. They all have a separate private seating area outside, with either a hammock or loungers.
Children are welcome at Ka'ana, and a range of family-friendly experiences can be arranged, however we would suggest that it is better suited to couples or honeymooners. The two-bedroom private pool villas provide ideal family accommodation and the casita suites also offer the option of twin beds for those who do not need a separate villa.
Facilities at Ka'ana include a swimming pool, yoga deck and spa, as well as an 'Adventure Desk' where you can organize any activities you may wish throughout your stay. Teh yoga deck is open daily from sunrise to sunset, and complimentary classes are organized on Tuesdays and Fridays at 7am. There is an organic garden which produces many of La Ceiba restaurant's ingredients, The Wallace Bar and an impressive wine cellar to boot.
The Cayo District and Mountain Pine Ridge are a paradise for adventurers and guests can enjoy exploring tropical jungle, a series of underground caves, and even nearby Mayan ruins at Tikal and Xunantunich (although we would usually recommend doing this from a lodge in the area).

Ka'ana, meaning Heavenly Place, is a boutique hotel with just 17 rooms that focuses heavily on relaxation, luxury and making their guests feel as special as possible. A great option for those looking to enjoy the Cayo District without getting their hands too dirty, spend time getting pampered at the spa, exploring from the organic garden, enjoying cocktails at The Wallace bar and doing yoga. Better suited to couples rather than families due to the romantic, zen atmosphere.
Ka'ana is definitely the most polished option in the region and is definitely better suited to those who need their creature comforts. What Ka'ana does provide is a more quiet, sophisticated, mature atmosphere for those looking to escape the more family filled resorts such as The Lodge at Chaa Creek during busy vacation seasons. The service is fantastic and very personalized, you can expect hand-written notes to be left in your room as well as little treats, and all guests will go through an orientation on check-in to discuss activity options and itineraries during their stay.
