Named after the book author Ian Fleming wrote here, GoldenEye is testament to the uber world of James Bond. Magically reinvigorated over the last few years, this beautiful property has reopened with brand new beachfront cottages and suites, perfect for couples and families, looking for a secluded vacation in a lush and beautiful part of Jamaica.

Stay in a one or two bedroom cottage located on the beach or the lagoon. For a special occasion or for guests with a larger family all wanting to be accommodated together, stay in Ian Fleming's house itself, complete with your own pool, private beach and stunning sunken garden. There are also 26 charming beach huts and a number of additional beachside facilities added due for opening in April 2016.

Laze the days away at GoldenEye in a hammock overlooking the ocean or explore the 30 acres of exotic gardens and grounds with Ramsay, who has worked at GoldenEye since Fleming's days and will explain all the fascinating flora and fauna, including 255 species of birds. For the more adventurous, take a jet ski trip to forgotten coves, kayak along the resort's own lagoon and into the open sea, learn to sail or take fishing trips with Ramsay. In the early evenings, enjoy a spectacular sunset at the Bizot Bar and try owner Blackwell's locally produced dark rum in a signature GoldenEye cocktail before enjoying a delicious dinner or a traditional spicy Jamaican barbecue. Come and experience this secluded bolthole for yourself - surely Jamaica’s best kept secret.

Fleming Villa

Fleming Villa is like an island unto itself. Looking for privacy? Fleming Villa (along with its satellite cottages, Pool House and Sweet Spot) is all about privacy. Your own beach—and, of course, your own pool, gardens, and staff. Walk over to GoldenEye for a spa treatment, for sunset cocktails at the Bizot Bar, for dinner at the Gazebo. Walk back to Fleming Villa and, again, you’re secluded. Removed from it all. Really, it’s the best of all worlds—and, the very best of ours. Of course, there’s the history. Fleming, and his character, Bond. James Bond. If these walls could talk they’d tell tales of artists and writers, spies and seducers. The romantic atmosphere is palpable. The vibe, utterly relaxing, though you may feel the inspiration that lives here, still.

Location & Directions

North Coast, Jamaica

GoldenEye is located in Oracabessa Bay, in the parish of St. Mary, 20 minutes outside of Ocho Rios on the north coast of Jamaica.

When to go

Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.
